#3 is great I think.

The light yellow & black border is perfect. Really shows up your fantastic work & pattern. Really makes it pop. The others didn't do it justice.

Your border
Of the 3 that you show I would pick #3 but having said that I feel that they are all too busy for the quilt. Your quilt is so beautiful that they detract from the design. I believe in the kiss principal - keep it simple sweetie. I think a plain rose border then add another one in black would make a stunning addition. That's just my opinion.

My opinion is: Go with your creative side. I just read a pattern that said to always start with the border and then work with a pattern and colors to set it off. Ooops, that's not what I do so whatever I think may be going down the twisted path....but it's my path. I think the center of your quilt is marvelous. The 4th pic is conservative, beautiful, formal.
From my own experience go with your own creativity. If you want to do patchwork around it, maybe look at different designs or colors. |
I also like the 3rd one!
|
I agree you should have a solid color border and not these listed.
|
I would choose the third one!
|
I like #3 the best.
|
Beautiful quilt... I think the 3rd border looks terrific with it..

i agree with the sentiments that the peiced borders detract from your center. My eye wants somewhere to rest or frame the center.
Since you asked, if it were mine, I would audition a skinny narrow border, to mimmic a double mat on a framed picture and then black. A soft textured fabric in a medium tone, similar to a mat might work if you want to expand the size of the quilt. |
