A zinger is a small border (usually 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches wide) that adds "zing" to your quilt and border. Not sure how to describe it. I also as a rule of thumb, use darker fabrics as my outside border. Tends to frame your quilt better and makes your eyes look inward toward the quilt. Light colors tend to make the eye want to look off the edge of the quilt...I am so bad at describing things. Sorry! Maybe someone can do a better job!

I would use a simple border so as not to take away from the design of the log cabin itself. Beautiful quilt :lol:
