While they both look nicely, I prefer the right side with the dots. I love bold and popping complimentary colors. Question however....who is the quilt for? That might determine which border you use.
Definitely the border on the right!! Keep us posted as it progresses!
I think the border on the right makes the quilt pop. I do see the black with stars in the quilt top also, so it does match.
I like the dark brown, it's not so distracting.
What color thread are you using for the embroidery on the pink, brown or black? Also I would make the stop border finished, 1 1/2, not quite as wide as you are showing in the picture. The fabrics are very pretty.

I would like to see the polka-dot fabric next to that dark pink with the small pattern on the top of your quilt. I like the polka dot fabric, but wonder what will happen next to that pink.
I like the brown on the left. With all the work you are going to do in the borders I think the polka dot could lessen the impact of your saying ,the applique and the over all quilt.

Thank you all for you opinions. I am still undecided but Shirley I think you may be right and the dot will take away from the embroidery. The embroidery will be done in a dark black/brown color. Never had such a hard time making a decision as to which fabric to use. Must be the weather...... Hope to get the borders on this weekend and some of the embroidery done then I will post a picture for you all to see which way I decided to go.

Love the dots.
Right side gives it even MORE interest!
I like the one on the left. The right isnt bad it just makes my eyes dizzy. The left is more calm and pleasing to the eyes, also help to unify what is going on in the center.
Right side definately...left side to me does nothing..
I like the one on the right the black with the stars.
I like the left one.
right side
Definitely dots.
If you are still keeping score, I like the one with the stars!
Is it going to be a narrow border? |
I wonder what you did. I think I would have used the solid brown, but I can't imagine doing so many borders without putting them together like a strip piece and attaching all three together, then you would see how they all work together. It is also a great way to have them all mitered.
I like the left border.
I vote for two borders...one of each!!

I like the border on the right side

I like the right side.

At first I thought the black w/stars... but if that 2nd border is supposed to be the same width as your inner pieced border, then the solid (?) or solid-appearing brown would be fine, esp. if there is some of that brown in the quilt itself. I can't tell... too dark. If it was any wider, it would stick out like a sore thumb (or black eye) and then the black w/stars would appear a bit "softer". I can see that one in the quilt squares.
Good luck... and it does look yummy like chocolates. :-) |
I am voting for the brown border. Love you quilt.
:P |
I like the dark brown one . Brown and pink are pretty together.
I like the black with stars on the right.
right one works for me
Black with stars is sewn on - right or wrong it is staying on now. Started on the embroidery on the next border. Soon as I get enough done to post another pick I will then you can decide if I made a good choice or not. LOL Thanks to everyone for your input.
I AGREE, THE ONE ON THE RIGHT WITH THE POOKA DOTS REALLY POPS IT OUT.
Dots.
I think they are both nice and either would work, but as someone said earlier if you are going to embroider the outside border I would stick with the solid, you don't want it to take away from the embroidery.
