I have a retreat I am going to Thrusday - Sunday and waited until the last nminute to make anything for everyone so I made water bottles, emptied them, dried of course, then chose fabrics and cut up fat-eigths and put two in each bottle.
TOmorrow all I have to do is make copies of a label I made for the bottle. Glue a button on each lid. Ta-dah...... Quick fix. The trick to getting them in there is you cut the center with a sharp knife half way around, then add fabrics and then tape shut with clear tape. The label hides any signs of it being cut, so they think you stuffed them from the top. Took me two hours to do 30. Great idea for get togethers and partys too. Very cute. Do you have a pattern for a bottle cozy you could add to it, that they could make out of their fat-eighths?

It wasn't my idea in full, we got these when we went to a Project Linus convention in ILlinois with PL stickers on them. I am putting The name of the guild and retreat 2011 and a quilty picture. I'll be glad to post them here when I finsih but it will be tomorrow after 6. Hosting a Sewing Day tomorrow from 9-5.

SO funny. I'd love to see what you made too. I thought it was at the end of august, first week in september and tehy surprised me. So this is what I could do fast. Tweezers................rofl

At Compass Centre retreat, there are 30 this year. So we give everyone a nice little something, and then something for our three roommates. Its fun. Of course others lay tings on your pillow etc all weekend to thank you for helping, or just because. I am taking extras too like little scissors, scissor fobs, things like that.

Cute! What are your labels going to say? The quilt guild I am in is needing/wanting stuff to sell in the boutique at the quilt show and I am thinking these might be a cute idea I could do!

Thank you! Those are going to be a hit at the retreat. I think, if you don't mind?, that I will make some for the quilt guild. I am a new member (joined in May) and am still trying to get a feel for what they like and want. I can't afford too much, but these bottle look like fun and relatively easy to put together, and most importantly super cute!! LOL! Thanks for sharing!
