Here's number 2, 3, and 4 of the 5 that I'm making for a lady. As with the other one (the frogs), this is taller than the pattern calls for and the straps are longer.

love the bow tuck purse, thanks for sharing with all of us

MommaDorian 05-05-2011 12:09 PM

Craftybear, I added two more to the original picture. I forgot I hadn't shared those yet.

I'm not sure when she'll give them. The 5th one has the same cupcake material and yellow lining, but the bottom, pocket and straps are small polka dots.

you are whipping them out quickly!

After they're all cut out, I can usually put it together in about 3 hours. As you can probably tell, I don't work outside the home and all 3 of my kiddos are in school.

Fun stuff!

rmccreary 05-05-2011 01:42 PM

I used that polka dot fabric to make a blanket for my daughter! I put on giant buttons instead of quilting it, she loves it! Too cute.

twixbar 05-05-2011 02:07 PM

Beautiful, I want to try one some-day.

Kathi Kraftyzales 05-05-2011 02:19 PM

Where did you get the pattern?

It's a modified Bow Tuck pattern. I got mine through Amazon.

I posted them to my FB account. An old friend of mine wants one for her daughter, with kitties on it. Plus a friend of hers wants one with turtles. This on top of me making her one like I made before, with frogs. I didn't realize putting them on my FB would get me so much business. :)

Nettie Phillips 05-05-2011 05:24 PM

MommaDorian 05-06-2011 05:59 AM

Thanks everyone!! I'm almost done making the five that were ordered by a lady here in town. Then I'm making one for a friend of mine (I'm trading for an afghan). My MIL wants two for some friends of hers. Plus, I'm copying one that a friend of mine already has. Think that'll keep me busy enough?

Oh, and I'm making 2 for an acquaintance, in exchange for a computer telescope that Miles wants.

sandisquiltedtouch 05-06-2011 06:01 AM

I like it also and I have the pattern,
about how long does it take to make? just wondering!

It takes me about an hour to cut it all out, then about 2 hours too put it together. It took me a bit longer the first time through though, maybe 5 hours total. I can do most of it without looking at the directions now.

Made this pattern in blues and greens. Great pattern with very clear instructions! I purchased a very inexpensive piece of artist canvas board (the kind they use for oil painting) at the local Craft 2000, cut it to size, wrapped coordinating fabric around it gluing it on the back and inserted it into the bottom to provide a very sturdy base for the inside of my purse. This has an unbelievable number of pockets inside which accommodates everything you might need, pens, medication, keys, cell phone, etc. leaving you gobs of room in the bottom for larger items like a book, kindle, etc. As I type this I'm thinking you could, also, use it as a "Bingo Bag".

Yes, a Bingo Bag! You could make it out of fabric with game stuff on it!!

I've been wanting a summer Bow Tuck. I think I have that fabric. Very cute, of course I love kitties at any age.
