Thanks, the fabric was leftover from making a quilted sweatshirt for my MIL and was put together using the jelly roll sew and cut method that another member(sorry I can't remember who) shared earlier this year.

I really like your idea! The bag is really pretty. Was the vinyl hard to work with? Way to go!

I acquired a role of vinyl already made into a long strip like your handles. Need to dig it out & give it a try on a bag.
Thanks for showing us your bow-tucks with a twist bag.

I have used vinyl before and I don't find it hard to work with. I do make sure I change my needle to a leather/vinyl one and you have to be sure things are lined up before you stitch (no froggin on vinyl, the holes are permanent, ask me how I know  ) For this pattern I made a couple of changes to the order that things went together because I was not quilting the vinyl portion, but once I got that worked out it was assemble as normal.

Thanks, I may take your lead and try this.

Very good idea. You can also check at thrift stores for large leather purses or coats to cut up for "new" handbags too. Or check your own closet, garage sales, etc.
