Here are photos of the two different watermelon Bow Tucks purses I made - which one do you like best? What do you think about putting a black button on the second purse? A watermelon pin or button would look nice but I haven't found any.

I think a black button would work perfectly.
Like them.

emerald46 07-26-2011 01:48 PM

I love them both. Black button would be perfect.

Jammin' Jane 07-26-2011 01:49 PM

Awesome!
They are both fun, summer bow tucks!
Yup, I agree with you...a big, black button would look great!

sparkys_mom 07-26-2011 01:49 PM

Making my mouth water! Maybe you could find a black teardrop shaped button.

amandasgramma 07-26-2011 01:49 PM

They are both so cute! I like the black button idea. If I had to chose one or the other I would pick the second one! I am partial to pink tho.

AUQuilter 07-26-2011 05:34 PM

yummy!

sue1964 07-26-2011 05:37 PM

Love the fabric, Great bags too.

Red Girls Mom 07-26-2011 05:51 PM

I think you should cover a button. I found a large one at Hancock's Fabric and had never covered a button before, but found it to be very easy, and the button looked great. So much easier than running around trying to find one to work.

KatFish 07-26-2011 07:29 PM

Awesome purses. Such fun fabrics!

Dingle 07-26-2011 08:32 PM

Your bag looks great! Living in a small town I don't have a lot of choices in buttons and could never find what I was really looking for when I made these bags. I now buy the Dritz button covers that way I can use matching fabric for the button. Works a lot better for me. I don't have to wait until I get to town to get one finished.

Mariposa 07-26-2011 08:37 PM

Darling bags! Great fabrics! Black button would be good!

amma 07-26-2011 09:04 PM

Beautiful bags! Love the piping on the second one :D:D:D

kuntryquilter 07-27-2011 02:59 AM

My question is where did you find the fabric and who is the designer? I love the purses and fabric.

I have had the fabric for a couple of years now, but it came from JoAnn's - however, there is still watermelon fabric available online as I just bought a similar green from Equilter. The pattern is a Mini Bow Tucks which is available several places online. I added the flap (my own design) because I prefer the top more "closed"and secure than with a button loop there.

quiltingcousin 07-27-2011 06:05 AM

Darling to be sure!

dphelps 07-27-2011 06:42 AM

So cute! Yes, the black button would be cute. Google decorative pins or buttons and see if you can find something.

emt2004 07-27-2011 06:43 AM

Sewwwwwwwwwwwwwww cute!!!!!!!! Michele

AngieS 07-27-2011 06:45 AM

These are ADORABLE! I love the green straps on the 1st one. Both are awesome!!

Here is the second purse with a black button on it (the only large black button I had). I think it looks good but will continue to look for something I like better.

purplecat 07-27-2011 07:18 AM

Those are very cute!

Thanks for your reply. I have the pattern. I will try to find the fabric on line.
