Butterfly Block of the month
3 Attachment(s)
Mom and I have just started making butterfly blocks. It is a block of the month pattern from our local quilt shop which started in February. (of course we are a couple months behind..LOL). We are using fusible web and doing a straight stitch around all the edges. Mom's block is the one on the right and mine is on the left. They really do lie flat and in this picture we have not trimmed them down to the 14" yet. Very fun to make, but,oh so time consuming! There are 12 blocks to do. It is a kit with the fabric colors all picked out. Hope you enjoy seeing them and I will keep posting pictures as we get more done...Dee.....oh...we don't have the embroidery done yet for the antennae.( date is wrong of course on the pictures...guess I better fix that)

Your Monarch butterfly blocks are beautiful! My favourite is the one on the left because I can see the flower stems better. They are both really great and I will look forward to seeing the others.

Beautiful!! I love butterflies. I bought a kit to applique butterflies on the blocks but haven't tried to make it yet as I am not very good at that type of thing. Straight lines are more my speed, at least right now, lol.

Wonderful blocks!! Please keep showing them to us every month!!

Your butterfly blocks are beautiful. Can't wait to see them put together.

Just finished a quilt with butterflies fashioned out of vintage handkerchiefs. Lot of work but worth it.
