I think the white really frames it well. I love the color combo on your carpenter's wheel.

The second one with the green border lets you focus on the star, the white draws your eye away from it.

I definately want to do the carpenter's star, is it hard to do? I like the first pic.

marymay 03-09-2012 04:26 AM

Please use the white number 1

Elaine433 03-09-2012 05:32 AM

Like the white. It looks like it belongs there.

appreciate any input

I really like the white as it gives the quilt a little pizazz.

Did you think about trying the floral as your 1st choice next to the quilt & going from there. Just a thought.

twoxover 03-09-2012 06:36 AM

i like the green and then the floral. but all of your choices will look lovely!

heljoy50 03-09-2012 06:59 AM

I like the white border.

Traditional 03-09-2012 07:05 AM

I think the quilt has enough white I like it better with green and floral border.

fmhall2 03-09-2012 07:15 AM

I think I agree with Jingle, the white border first then the green, then the floral. It is a very nice quilt, and nicely done.

Landers 03-09-2012 07:22 AM

I like just the floral one!

solstice3 03-09-2012 07:51 AM

Great idea from Izaquilter

feffertim 03-09-2012 09:15 AM

I don't care for the white either, I prefer just the green and then the floral on the outside.

darlenedowns 03-09-2012 09:27 AM

I would not use the white border cause it takes away from the center that you have worked so hard on
I would use the floral next to the green so that the main part of the quilt stands out. I thank that you have worked to hard to just over crowd your work.

Marycumi 03-09-2012 10:10 AM

I would leave the white border out of choices. I think it would detract from the lovely center.

donnaluigi 03-09-2012 03:24 PM

I love #2 it dose not need white

milikaa1 03-09-2012 03:45 PM

I like the first pic with the gold.

I've had to walk away from a quilt & do that a couple times & I'm glad I did. I've also learned to go with my first instinct & not always someone elses!

I think this is good advice. Sometimes you need a little time to "digest" before you decide on a border. Beautiful quilt!

jennifer winters 03-10-2012 07:10 AM

gold sets this quilt of ,keep it up.

ladyquilter5589 03-10-2012 09:05 AM

I LOVE the green only!

KathyPhillips 03-10-2012 12:22 PM

I like the 2nd photo that says border #1. Green, then floral, no white in the border.

mtkoldra 03-13-2012 05:15 PM

Thank you all for you good suggestions, I guess I did not wait long enough the read many suggestion of not using the white border, but I did.

All together, I am not happy with the color choices. The reason for this quilt was to use the floral fabric, which I did not use enough of, in this quilt. I am not happy with the bright yellow, mostly, the white border......... but it is done, not sure if when I will be able or want to quilt it. Maybe I need time to get used to it or it might go to UFO pile, or will auction it?

thank you again, to you all

ps
since I can not add picture here, I will start new thread

mommessy 03-13-2012 05:21 PM

I like the white. Makes the center pop. Very nice!

Cheshirecatquilter 03-13-2012 05:22 PM

I like the first picture best.
