I saw the quilt in the July/Aug FOns & Porter love of quilting magazine. If you go to the website www.QuiltingTreasures.com, enter Kensington Studio in the search field, you will see 'Kensington Studio-Penny Lane and you can download the pattern for free. I think the fabric is called quilting treasures but I can't remember for sure. I know I had to get the fabric at two different websites, some from Fabric.com, don't remember the other site. The ad on the magazine says you can order a kit at fons and porter.com

The fabric is very pretty.

jlm5419 07-03-2011 07:31 PM

Just think about how lovely that fabric will look in the finished quilt!

cathyvv 07-03-2011 07:40 PM

Just kick the fabric my way! Trouble is, I'm not sure I'd want to cut it either...it's so pretty.

RDM 07-03-2011 08:06 PM

I relate, if I cut it, use it, then it's all gone...but not really, because then you get a quilt. Go for it, cut it, visualize the finished quilt-it'll be wonderful and you'll be so proud of your completed project.

OK got the DH's big steeled toed work boots on...You better go get busy on that quilt before I come over there and give ya the boot!!! crafty_linda_b

Think about it. YOU get the good out of it...not anyone else.

That sure puts it in perspective!!!!!!

BETTY62 07-03-2011 09:54 PM

Wow that's awesome fabric. Get that quilt started becaue it's going to be beauty and we're all waiting to see it.

MaryKatherine 07-04-2011 02:47 AM

I know what you mean. I once was to make an evening coat out of velvet and I sat there with the material on the table for 3 days until I could muster the courage to cut.

What line, company is it? That is just beautiful. I want to "hate to cut " too!

piepatch 07-04-2011 03:20 AM

I can see why you are reluctant to cut it. It is so pretty and the colors blend so well together. But once you cut into the first piece, you will be on your way. That first piece is the hardest.

lukeje 07-04-2011 03:56 AM

Thank You for the info..

Sewfine 07-04-2011 04:49 AM

Kick, Kick. Now get up and get busy.

Your MIL was a VERY smart woman!!

SewExtremeSeams 07-04-2011 05:19 AM

Oh, I can understand. Your fabrics are beautiful. Here's an idea. Cut 6" x 22" strips of each fabric. Sew them together and quilt them. You will have a small doll size quilt that you can hang on your sewing wall to enjoy whenever you want. Then, go cut the rest of it up for your quilt. Have fun! :-D

jeanneb52 07-04-2011 05:48 AM

OHHHHHHH such pretty colors. I nderstand why you're having trouble cutting into it!

Rann 07-04-2011 06:07 AM

Steel toe boot coming your way. I know what you mean. I went crazy on Kaffe FAssett and can't bear to cut them.

0tis 07-04-2011 06:14 AM

You kick me and I will kick you. I have the same problem some times - but I think you will be very happy when you cut it and make a beautiful quilt.

grammysharon 07-04-2011 07:07 AM

I feel your pain

Jo Mama 07-04-2011 07:26 AM

I know exactly how you feel.

jzaaboo 07-04-2011 07:39 AM

This happens to me a lot, and I have to ask myself, am I a quilter or a fabric buyer? That seems to help. Good luck and have fun

rather B stitchin 07-04-2011 07:58 AM

You have the photo of the beautiful fabric now consider yourself kicked and make something spectacular!

hudgoddess 07-04-2011 08:11 AM

Send it all to me. I'll be happy to cut it knowing how amazing it'll look in that quilt!

BuzzinBumble 07-04-2011 08:15 AM

You're not alone with your "Can't Cut It" troubles. Seems like a lot of people here could use a little kick start. It is really difficult for me too to make those first cuts on beautiful fabrics. Glad you got the motivation you needed!

jaciqltznok 07-04-2011 08:22 AM

KICK.....that quilt will be stunning..get those fabs cut and start sewing them together to get the WHOLE effect!

trolleystation 07-04-2011 09:53 AM

Shut off that TV. Just think about how beautiful your 'work of art' will be when it is done. p.s. Thereis always more fabric at the store.

quilter2theend 07-04-2011 10:30 AM

As the saying goes "JUST DO IT" make that first cut and keep going.

madamekelly 07-04-2011 11:12 AM

That beautiful fabric was all set to be loved as a quilt, now it is just laying there sadly, waiting to be loved. So sad. {{{{{{{{KICK}}}}}}}}

MissJMac 07-04-2011 11:23 AM

It's not near as pretty as it will be after you cut, piece, and quilt it. Jus sayin'.....

cavmom 07-04-2011 11:51 AM

Lol! I am the same way! Then I do give myself a swift kick and start cutting :D

Rubyrednails2 07-04-2011 11:59 AM

Look at it this way. If we don't use our fabric, will the kids practically give it away or just get a dumpster and dispose of it? Or, will the next wife use it (in case your hubby would marry again) ? Neither of those scenarios appeal to me. Use it and enjoy it and then you have a good excuse to buy more! A win-win situation!

NanaCsews2 07-04-2011 11:59 AM

I understand completely! But then, look at the beautiful result this wonderful fabric is going to make! Then you get to look at that and your tough decision then would be to keep it or let someone else have it to look at...

Annz 07-04-2011 12:21 PM

I completely understand. 8-)

Debbie C 07-04-2011 12:43 PM

Come on,Woman, get your butt in gear. It's going to look awesome when it's done!! KICKING YOU (gently) Well, don't just sit there reading! Get going!!! rotflmbo!! Thanks, I needed that!

bebe 07-04-2011 12:46 PM

look how pretty your quilt will be
give off ur bootie and make that quilt

kick kick!!!!

FQ Stash Queen 07-04-2011 12:51 PM

Consider yourself kicked. You must really, really not want to cut that fabric if you are choosing men's soccer over quilting. Please, please, please get off your rear end and venture over to the fabric and just keep repeating "I think I can, I think I can, I KNOW I can". If that doesn't work, maybe you could try a therapist. LOL

carolaug 07-04-2011 12:55 PM

Kick, kick...it will look better in a quilt and it will be used instead of being stuck in a box
