Carolina Chain

This is a Bonnie Hunter block, but instead of 2" squares, I used 3 1/2." I think next time, I'll use a lighter light for the chain. I enjoyed the pattern; it goes together easily and quickly.

Great quilt!
very nice quilt!!!
Very nice, gives me an idea for my scraps.
What did your finished quilt measure compared to Bonnie's measurement using 2" squares? I have considered doing one of her quilts using 2 1/2 as opposed to 2" as I have plenty of 2 1/2" sq. already cut out. Thanks.
BEAUTIFUL!!! :) Very happy and cheerful!!
I like the pattern and your quilt looks fantastic.
A great stash buster, way to go. Don't you love it when you are inspired to tweak a pattern your way?
It's a great scrappy quilt. Thanks for sharing.
Love the colors you used. Bright and cheerful. Hope it made a tiny dent in your stash.
That looks great! You did a good job....and I always like scrapes, unless they are the ones I make. Those just don't turn my head like this one does.

very nice quilt

Beautiful quilt and great use of scraps.
Very pretty!! I see several fabrics that look familiar!!
Great scrappy quilt!! I think that pattern would be good in batiks too.
Pretty! Did you do it with leaders and enders like she does, or just with cut-out squares? My leaders always get bird's nests on them so I don't think that way would work for me.
well done!!!!
I didn't do leaders and enders, just made the blocks.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. |
I see what you mean by a lighter, light. I had to go back ad look at the quilt again. It does work though, like a hidden pattern. I like it very much.

You can use lighter, but, I love this. I was looking at the blocks and all of a sudden out came the chain. I think it is perfect.
Now, I just went back and looked at it again, and just now found the beige chain. LOL. I just love this.
Very pretty - love it!
That is a beautiful quilt. You did a great job. Thanks for showing it.

The chain color looks great. Beautifully done.

Simple but fantastic. I, too, have tons of 2 1/2" squares. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Love yours.

30 X 3 = 90 Using 2.5 unfinished squares the quilt would be 60" across. |
