Cathedral Stars

Just wanted to show a picture of a Quiltville.com/Bonnie Hunter quilt I did to show how well quilting hides imperfections, lol. This is the first quilt I used the TriRecs ruler on, and it has lots of points that are either lopped off or are floating. They really don't show unless you start looking for them (please don't!).

This was taken @ DD's while I was in the midst of binding it earlier this year. It's done, labeled and has been used since then.

Bright and beautiful! I love it!

The floating and lopped-off points give it character - The overall impact is stunning so I would not point out the things you are not happy with!

I'm a huge Bonnie H fan. I've never seen anyone who does so much in a day - and offers so much for free! There is a ton of information on her website, and many, many free patterns. Her books are well worth the price, as the patterns are so detailed that even less experienced sewers (gosh, I hate how that word looks) will be successful.

This was started in a class of hers I was fortunate enough to take in DE early in 2012. Yes, it took me over a year to finish - I have quilters ADD... I am still working on the mystery from this year, which is also available free on her website. If you are interested in the mystery pattern, you will need to either download it or print it as it will be taken off of her website at some point (usually a couple of months) to be included in a future book.

What's funny is that I don't normally care for bright things, but LOVE this quilt, even more than my Easy Street (avatar). I had to struggle to come up with enough for this, mostly coming from my stash. I went to the ones I'd used for childrens quilts, for the most part. Even at that, they are more jewel tone than clear bright.

Guess I need to find a balance that is brighter than I've been using but not neon!
