Just wanted to show a picture of a Quiltville.com/Bonnie Hunter quilt I did to show how well quilting hides imperfections, lol. This is the first quilt I used the TriRecs ruler on, and it has lots of points that are either lopped off or are floating. They really don't show unless you start looking for them (please don't!).

This was taken @ DD's while I was in the midst of binding it earlier this year. It's done, labeled and has been used since then.

Gorgeous! You did a beautiful job.

Grandma Bonnie 01-03-2014 04:13 PM

Bright and beautiful! I love it!

LindaMRB 01-03-2014 04:14 PM

The floating and lopped-off points give it character - The overall impact is stunning so I would not point out the things you are not happy with!

Tartan 01-03-2014 04:15 PM

Great quilt! I love Bonnie's free patterns.

mom-6 01-03-2014 04:15 PM

I'm a huge Bonnie H fan. I've never seen anyone who does so much in a day - and offers so much for free! There is a ton of information on her website, and many, many free patterns. Her books are well worth the price, as the patterns are so detailed that even less experienced sewers (gosh, I hate how that word looks) will be successful.

This was started in a class of hers I was fortunate enough to take in DE early in 2012. Yes, it took me over a year to finish - I have quilters ADD... I am still working on the mystery from this year, which is also available free on her website. If you are interested in the mystery pattern, you will need to either download it or print it as it will be taken off of her website at some point (usually a couple of months) to be included in a future book.

What's funny is that I don't normally care for bright things, but LOVE this quilt, even more than my Easy Street (avatar). I had to struggle to come up with enough for this, mostly coming from my stash. I went to the ones I'd used for childrens quilts, for the most part. Even at that, they are more jewel tone than clear bright.

Guess I need to find a balance that is brighter than I've been using but not neon!

Very beautiful. Love Bonnie Hunter's patterns! great for using stash.

Beautiful quilt, and I know what you mean. I find that a quilt looks better at every stage, from putting the blocks together to quilting to binding. I may not like the looks of the individual blocks, but once put together it's like magic.

Beautiful use of your scraps

toverly 01-04-2014 05:32 AM

Beautiful quilt! That is the first Bonnie Hunter I have truly liked. I love scrappy but sometimes they are too scrappy. You did a wonderful job. Cut points and all. :) No one, not even a quilter would dare to look for them. It's too pretty on it's own as a whole.

BrendaK 01-04-2014 05:38 AM

Super. You did a great job on this quilt and I for one can't see mistakes,( even if I didn't look for them) just a beautiful quilt. BrendaK

You did a great job....This pattern is on my to do list...my biggest problem is picking the fabric (as always lol). But I love this quilt....

Quilter 65 01-04-2014 11:26 AM

That is lovely. The overall effect is such that I wouldn't see imperfections if I looked, and I didn't. Just stunning.

Annz 01-04-2014 12:20 PM

It looks really nice. Love the way the blue border pulls in the other blues.

GrammaNan 01-04-2014 01:06 PM

No one should dare point out an imperfection on this gorgeous quilt. The blocks and colors are amazing. This must have taken hours and hours to complete. Congratulations!
