Cathedral Window Variation
1 Attachment(s)
I can't even begin to explain to you how relieved I am..... I started with one layout, but didn't like it so I finished it all the same. Was too late to undo the beginning layout. So I just use that part as the pillow end. King size on a queen bed. I sewed through all layers for more durability instead of the traditional way.
Pattern: Cathedral Window (Variation) Base Squares: 576 by machine “Windows”: 2,676 by hand Fabric: Unbleached Muslin, 100% Cotton Blue Scroll Completion: Oct 23, 2015 (5 yrs) |
Fabulous! I especially like how you did the pillow part. I admire your patience in finishing this quilt!

One of the prettiest Cathedral windows I have seen. The blue and ivory is so striking. I also have to comment how much I love your format of presenting by listing pattern, size, etc.

Love the pillow technique.........and the patience to complete this quilt. Awesome job.

What an awesome achievement! The part you started with that covers the pillows now was an inspired solution - looks perfect.
|
Great quilt and quite an accomplishment!
|
Thank you all so much for the kind words! Truly appreciated! I forgot to add a few info tidbits. My window fabric is cut to 2.5" squares. Base squares were cut at 9.5" (I can't remember the size of the finished folded square). I have 20/100 uncorrectable vision but refused to let it hinder me. I owe my perseverance to my husband who has been my rock and cheerleader throughout this process. Finished out at 102" square. Took about 50-60 yards of muslin.

I think you enhanced the design by having the pillow part in a different pattern. Awesome job! The color scheme is elegant.

Love your variation. Always wanted to do one but not into hand piecing anything except binding turned over to the backside. Love your colors as they are so simple but elegant in my book.
