Cattails Quilted
 

Finished quilting my Cattails in The Meadow. It was another one that I had absolutely no idea of how to quilt it. I looked everywhere for ideas and drew a blank. I just started and made up the design as I went. The quilt police will have a heart attack if they see this, but with all the problems against me I am very proud of it. My tremors were worse than ever, I chose the wrong backing, a tone on tone that was like sandpaper, no sliding at all. I had to pull every inch through my machine which is a DSM not a long arm. I could not find my supreme slider and was not about to run out and purchase another. The stitches are totally inconsistent . Oh well, it is done. I Think you did a beautiful job on the piecing and the quilting. I am only sorry that you did not enjoy the quilting and that it was so frustrating for you. Your hard work was worth it and I hope the Quilting Goddess is with you on the next quilt to make the journey more joyful.

Joy, did you do the applique of cattails on after you quilted this? It is gorgeous. You've done a smash up job on it. I am doing a Judy quilt now, too. And it has cattails applique. I am not sure how I will do these. The directions given are not very clear. I'm doing Misty Mountain Pond and it has been such fun.

remember the "fast horse," I think it is great. Love the colors love the cattails. I'm a beginning quilter and I'd love to be able to fmq that well.
