All those patterns looks hard to me -- how do you know what's simple enough for a beginner to do?

This was the first time I did one, I just picked a pattern I thought was pretty. I didn't really follow the instructions, it probably took me longer to do it my way, but I thought the instructions were too hard.

Today at our ASG meeting one of my friends gave me a book of celtic patterns. Can't wait to have time to look at it.

Just beautiful, Bearpaw!!!! I absolutely am smitten with that. Did you do a double stitch on the fusible bias, or was it hand stitched? Was it hard to do? I have tons of batiks, the fusible bias and I even bought a few double-needles. Now all I need to do is find the time!  Thank you for the link. I have a niece who is getting married next Fall and something like that would be such a nice gift, don't you think?
