Oh wow! Those quilts are absolutely stunning! Congratulations!

FabStripper 06-25-2014 08:06 AM

I feel your pain when we collect and don't use. But I have a little problem seeing that this was hard for you to not buy fabric. These quilts are both so pretty. You made 2 very pretty quilts using what you have and you should be proud of both of them.

SouthPStitches 06-25-2014 08:09 AM

Your quilts are "knock your socks off" fantastic. I love the tribal feel of the first quilt. The colors are perfect. And the leopard is wonderful. I, too, would like to know what book you used for them, especially the first. Beautiful job!

Grandma Peg 06-25-2014 11:28 AM

I know I have used this phrase before, but all I can say is.........WOW! Those are beautiful!! I admire your quest! I could not imagine myself living long enough to make a quilt from all of my Mother's and my own quilt books and magazines!! I only hope I can manage to make a significant dent in my fabric stash!!

A-MAZ-ING!
What a great challenge to yourself. And what fabulous results.

zennia 06-25-2014 12:22 PM

Both are stunning. Keep reading those books.

SittingPretty 06-25-2014 12:34 PM

Those quilts are fantastic! I know what you mean about "collecting" books, and I think you have a great idea. I seem to have a lot of books, too, from which I have not yet made any quilts. I think I just may try to do the same thing, make at least one quilt from each book. That will help me figure out if I really want to keep the book, or not.

Kathy T. 06-25-2014 12:48 PM

I love quilts that I just can't stop looking at - both of yours fit that category. Way beyond creative with colors ... fabulous work! I'd love to see more as your self-challenge progresses.

quiltinglady 06-25-2014 01:03 PM

Delbra, they may have been harder then you thought but your excellence is definitely a testament to your talent. Both are simply gorgeous.:o I would take on your challenge of making one quilt out of each of my books, but there's no need for me to lie. I might start but it would become a UFO. Accomplishing your task, says a lot for your tenacity. Job Well Done.:thumbup:

quiltinglady 06-25-2014 01:13 PM

Delbra, sorry to bother you and everyone with a second comment, but I printed your pictures out to take to my quilt group and next months guild meeting. You did such a marvelous job, I wanted those who aren't Quilting Board members to see your beautiful work.:thumbup:

Tess 06-25-2014 01:28 PM

Oh wow! Both are stunning. You did a beautiful job...

Delbra 06-25-2014 03:56 PM

Wow thanks. I did not mean to mislead anyone. I should have said the leopard was a panel. Was rushing I guess. Eleanor Burns, Delectable Mountains Book. for the blocks around him.

The other book is The Patchwork Planner by Birte Hilberg.

Glad you liked them, Thank you

Delbra 06-25-2014 03:58 PM

Yes, I finished my avatar last year in time for our Quilt show and received 3rd place ribbon.

red-warrior 06-25-2014 04:16 PM
