What a great idea to cut up those blocks that you weren't happy with. I agree with you that the disappearing blocks are much nicer than the originals, and I love your face block and the striped flange. Very clever.

I always admire quilts made with orphan blocks. Yours is stunning. I bet that face workshop was interesting.

I liked the original blocks but LOVE them cut and rearranged even more. Great place for the face block and the title is perfect.

Great save for those blocks. Love the face.

You are right to turn blah into WOW! The blocks are so much more interesting now. I also like the black and white to link it altogether. However the woman’s face is the cream of the crop! The eyes are amazing! I don’t understand how it was accomplished but you sure aced that class.
Going back to the blocks, did you cut it like you would a disappearing 9 patch? |

I love your solution. The black and white sashing. It really sets off the blocks.

Thanks for getting back to me about the cutting. I love this ‘work of art’. Beautiful finish. I had to show my sister and a friend today what you started with and your finish. Very impressive.

I hope you put that in a show someplace for everyone to enjoy the story (and the quilt!)

Jenn -- that quilt is a blue ribbon winner I suspect. I hope you enter it in a show somewhere, as Quiltmom2 suggested!
