Finished 40 blocks and assembled it as you see here in the pic from Friday till now. Is this looking like a bargello of some sort? Had to label each row to make sure it was sewn in the right order. Sounds familar? Well, it was a pleasure to make because I have a wonderful friendship with Debbie and I thought this would be a perfect gift for her birthday.

This is the same pattern I made for my daughter only hers is purple and black. I've attached photos to show how color can make all the difference of ANY pattern.
And there are 1280 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares in Debbie's quilt.

What do you think so far?

I think you have much more patience than I have for working with tiny blocks!! Quilt Looks great- extreemely nice birthday gift.

For those who want to know how I got that pattern, it goes like this:
Make ten 16 patch blocks using each of the primary colors and a black. You will end up with 10 rows with 10 blocks.
I used a pre-packaged fabric from JoAnns and it had 10 colors; hense the amount of primary colors.
When laying out the rows use one of each color side by side.
Take the next row and move the first block to the end of the row.
Take the next row and move the first and second block to the end of the row.
Repeat this for each row; then you come up with the same pattern as mine.
Looks harder than it is. When sewing the rows together use a piece of paper to mark row 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
Trust me you will need to mark the rows. If you mess up the pattern will be thrown off.
Add borders as desired.

They are beautiful quilts, but 1 1/2 squares. all I can say is WOW. I love your daughter's quilt, years ago I made my son a bright blue and black quilt, but in an Irish chain pattern. He still has it and he's 36. Great job.
