Checkered Dresden Plate.
4 Attachment(s)
I have just finished making these four table centre quilts. My UK quilt group had a recent challenge - "Something to decorate your table / coffee table"
I saw a tutorial by Jenny Doan ( amazing lady ) from Missouri Star Quilt Company in which she made a quilt with 9 of the Dresden Plates - so I have just used one block. It is a really nice project to do and having made one for the challenge, I carried on and made three more. I quilted the blades "In the ditch " and then want to hand sew in the middle circle some seed stitches to add an embellishment. You can see I have finished the one in shades of brown and green - halfway finished the purple one and have not done the Christmas ones yet ! |
Great job!

I really like those! I've not done a Dresden yet, but I like the one block idea!

Beautiful blocks and colors. I made 3 or 4 regular dresden plate quilts. I like the idea of the checkered dresdens, I could use smaller scraps for them.
|
Very pretty and I especially like the Christmas one. Great work
|
Love these! The most unique Dresden plate block I have seen and I really like it.
|
Those are all really nice. You've got some very nice color/fabric combinations.

These are all lovely I too especially like the Christmas one. I was wondering with the first one it looks like the top of the blade is missing is it or is the fabric so close to the background that you can't see it? I was just wondering because I did that the other day something got lost because of my color choice.

Very kool. BrendaK

Yes - it has got lost, lesson learnt ! The same fabric as the background. I won't do that again. |
