I just loved this pattern and it seemed easy enough for a beginner. It was fun using my repro's too! The colors are more true in the picture where my shadow is! One day I'll learn how to shoot pictures! Now to tackle quilting. I'm scared, very scared! LOL!

I don't know how they came up with cheese and crackers but it sure is cute, those fabrics look very nice i it. Have you decided how you're going quilt it?

quiltmaker101 10-10-2007 08:48 AM

I like it. It is really darling.

And I know how you feel about trying to quilt it yourself.

Mimisharon offered to give me lessons if I let her vacation here in Pensacola (at my home.) Maybe you can offer the same? LOL

Chele,

Great quilt top. I love the colors so bright and cheery. Great Spring quilt. Yes how are you going to quilt it?

Debbie

SaraSewing 10-10-2007 08:53 AM

This is a beauty! This may just be "the one" I'm looking for to use a particular assortment of scraps. You sure did a nice job. Sara

mimisharon 10-10-2007 08:54 AM

No pressure on your making a decision, Chele! It's a wonderful top, look at some of the quilting sights and maybe do a little practice thingee.

My favorite quilting word.......thingee!

Yep, going to Pensacola one of these days. She promised she's a good cook and we can quilt at the beach......what would keep me away? lol lol

Chele, love the quilt top, you did a very nice job on it. What size fabric
pieces did you use.?? Nancy

nanabirdmo 10-10-2007 09:08 AM

what a wonderful quilt. just beautiful. and you took great pics. sure helps to take it out in the sunlight to get a good pic, right? mine always take better outdoors.
i love these repro fabrics. you did a magnificent job, thanks for sharing.

Chele 10-10-2007 09:25 AM

Nancy, I used 10 different repro FQ's. The pattern is designed for fat quarters. The white is a white on white paisley. The middle bars end up being 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" each.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm not sure how I want this quilted. Probably an all-over design. Puzzle pieces maybe? I may hire a long armer! I've only attempted stitch in the ditch.

Deb G 10-10-2007 09:32 AM

I love it...the rep fabrics and the pattern are great. It wll be beautiful when it's quilted.

The pics are nice, nothing to worry about.

PamH 10-10-2007 09:50 AM

Chele,
your quilt is very pretty, I haven't seen that pattern before.
My favorite fabrics are the repro.
great job

amma 10-10-2007 10:02 AM

It is soooo pretty, I love the colors you chose and you did an excellent job on the piecing :D :D :D Can't wait to see it again when you get it completed! :D :D :D

Pam Pollock 10-10-2007 11:25 AM

Chele, That is a very nice pattern & you did a great job piecing it. Were you making it for anyone in particular? Be sure to take another photo when you're done quilting it & share it again! Thanks!

jbsstrawberry 10-10-2007 11:49 AM

That is ADORABLE!!! A set of matching ones would look just too cute for words on the girls beds!!! ( was that a subtle enough hint?  )

Knot Sew 10-10-2007 01:18 PM

very pretty and nice job........can't wait to see what you tackle next :D :D

ButtercreamCakeArtist 10-10-2007 01:26 PM

Chele~~That is really, really pretty! Nice work!

Kathy~~I see why it is called cheese and crackers....bc the large strips "sandwich" a small strip....like cheese in the middle of two crackers.

lin 10-10-2007 02:28 PM

Repros was the perfect choice for this quilt. How beautiful!! It's so lively. You did a really fine job putting this together. Have you considered hand quilting it or have you decided to machine quilt it? Whatever you choose, you've got a winner on your hands. :)

How big is this quilt?

Cathe 10-10-2007 03:19 PM

Very pretty. Is that an Atkinson Designs pattern? She is my favorite commercial pattern maker - her instructions are always so clear and accurate.

Chele 10-10-2007 03:48 PM

It is an Atkinson Design. The instructions were very clear cut. Here's a link if you want the pattern: http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/patterns/patternDetail.asp?productID=135

That is beautiful! I love those colors. That is a very nice quilt! I'm sure you do great with the quilting. I can't wait to see it quilted. :)

Celeste 10-10-2007 06:43 PM

Your quilt certainly does the pattern justice! When I looked at the site you gave us, it looked a little blah. What a difference your color choices and sewing have done for it!

I tired this pattern and was disappointed in my try. I used snowflake patterns in flannel. It was a fun one to make, but the colors just didn't stand out very well. I loved the photo from Chele so much, and may even try it again. Sara

This was flannel in the crackers and cheese pattern. What a difference color makes!

Chele 12-23-2007 06:07 PM

Oh Sara, I love your take on cheese and crackers. The blues and whites are very wintery. It is a fun pattern. I'd try it again too. I may need to go get some blue and white fabric! :D

rein 12-23-2007 07:49 PM

Chele - just found your post. I get onto this site and get sidetracked so easily! There are just too many good things to see! LOVE your cheese & crackers! How did you end up finishing it? Loved Sara's too - and as you say, hers is wintery and yours is more spring like. You should BOTH be proud! Thanks for sharing and giving us all even more ideas..

Celeste 12-24-2007 01:06 AM

Sara, I'm sorry you're disappointed. I think it's beautiful and would quite lovely on my bed, chair. . . :D

Hey Sharon! If you read this, it has been more than a year, and I am still waiting for you to be my guest!!! LOL

Maybe next Spring, when it is warm again, and we can head to the beach before the jellyfish arrive.

Beautiful quilt, good stashbuster! :-) Any chance you could post a tutorial for the pattern in the tutorials section?

bluebird 11-03-2008 12:35 PM

Ditto on all the kiddoos. Great job, love the repro fabrics you chose. Neat pattern and different fabrics make it even more interesting. :D

Chele 11-03-2008 01:44 PM

Thanks everyone! This one still needs to be quilted! It was one of my first quilts!

I can't post a tutorial since there's a pattern available. But I do encourage you to purchase the pattern. It was really easy. Even for a beginner!
