A few weeks ago I posted a query about making a quilt for my DSIL who is going through chemo. The response was wonderful -- giving me hints of what would be most needed. Thank you so much to all who gave me suggestions.
Bottom line: make it big enough to cover from head to toe and tuck under everywhere, use flannel backing instead of batting (to keep it warm and soft, but lightweight for carrying to sessions), be sure her name is on it to prevent loss/theft, possibly include a carrying tote big enough for the quilt as well as some reading material/charts. My quilt was made from Moda Charms (Wildflowers IV) and coordinating fabrics. I used a blue sky flannel on the back. Here's a link to my original post: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-138078-1.htm Attached are pictures of the quilt I completed and sent. Your fabrics are lovely. Bag is awesome. |
The quilt is just gorgeous. And how wonderful to have it's own tote.
