I had these panels in my stash that I purchased several years ago. All the fabric was from stash. Quilted on my Janome mc. I will never use yellow chalk again. I learned a lot of lessons, the hard way from this one.

Great job. Did you have trouble with the yellow chalk? Let us know what happened with it. Love the chickens.

I love the chickens!. You did a great job on the quilting. I'm curious about the yellow chalk too. What happened with it?

I know a gal and I myself have done this; when using chalk test it on a dark fabric, wait about 30 minutes and go back to wipe it off with a piece of felt like they use on old chalk boards. It usually comes right off if it hasn't gotten wet. 100% wool yarn will do this also. Shouldn't have a problem. To make colored chalk usually a dye is mixed in that at some point was wet. So when chalk gets damp it has a tendency to set. My cousins kids used to draw on their driveways but they first used a broom to brush it off before hosing the driveway to clean. Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to sweep flour excess than it is to mop?

Yes,my last two projects. Used yellow clover. Now some of it did come out.But where my marks got a little on the heavy side. There still there. I did try removing before. Eraser fabric. Pretreated with ink remover. Maybe they will come out, with repeated washing. But I did wash twice. The other one a smaller table runner. Was worst. It had some cotton polyester materials for my one color. I don't normally use this mix in my quilts, I wanted to use this fabric up. And it was fine for this project. But the yellow chalk didn't come out of the mixed cotton, poly. If this would of been a really special project. I sure would be sad. I think I just handled the chicken quilt to much. A lot of changing my mind on quilting. Ripping out. And the chalk worked in way into material.Maybe even the pushing and turning in the DSM. I don't think I'll ever use it again. We put to much time into these projects to have them ruined.
