Christmas Block Swap Wall Hanging

3 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone! I have been busy trying to use up some of my UFO's recently on small projects. I damaged my tendon in my right arm/hand, and have had a heck of a time sewing or quilting, but, I am moving onward anyway. So please don't judge my quilting to harshly.

This is a block swap from here on the board some time ago. I think it came out cute and the blocks were all so nicely made. So thanks again girls for the nice blocks. Here is what I did with mine. It just needs a label on the back.

I am gifting this one to a newfound friend at my insurance office who helped us though when someone ran their car into the front of our house this time last year. Boy, it sure was a mess to have fixed, took months to get it all done. She went above and beyond her duty for us.

Thank you all for your nice comments.

lynnie 09-16-2016 07:44 AM

I can't imagine HAVING someone crash into your house and the resulting chaos that might cause in your life!! I do hope no one was injured and am so glad you're thru the adventure now. Wow. What a memory, huh.

I can imagine crashing INTO a house. It happened to me in a cab going down a hill into town with my mother when I was a small child. It lost its brakes; she forced me to the floor as the driver went over a curb, through a fence, across a yard, and finally into the corner of a brick house-- all in an effort to get us stopped!
Passed that house for decades and saw the color knocked off that corner; thank goodness there was no other real damage to us or the residents!

You did a great job and I love the sashing materials you chose as well as the backing.

MargeD 09-17-2016 11:59 AM

Great quilt, and wonderful Christmas blocks. Love the backing too. Hope you are soon better and able to do all the quilting you want. I can relate, having had my right shoulder replaced last May, as I could barely raise my arm and could do very limited sewing; but now I'm making up for lost time. Nov. Craft fair, here I come.

Nice Christmas wall hanging.

RedGarnet222 09-17-2016 05:40 PM

Thank you everyone! It was the girls who really did the work here. I just set it and got it quilted.
Margie I am glad to hear you are doing so well. Great!

Jan I am so sorry this happened to you when you were young. Gee that must have been tough.

RedGarnet222 09-18-2016 08:08 AM

The air races are going on today and making a heck of a lot of noise. Makes for sewing torture!

Judith1005 09-18-2016 10:29 AM

Nice job Sandy. There are some really cute blocks there. I sure hope you are on the mend soon!!

Yooper32 09-21-2016 05:39 AM
