I made similar napkins for my nieces for Christmas and one of their friends e mailed me and asked if she paid me would I make her 18. I said I would but they would not be finished by this Christmas. She said no problem. I finished them this morning and will mail out tomorrow. I hope she likes them. Just noticed the date on the camera, needs to be changed. Enjoy

These are adorable. Do you make them reversible (machine embroidery on one side only) or do you use a single layer and roll the edges? I made reversible ones for many family members this year but didn't think about machine embroidery. These are great! Thanks for sharing!

They are single layers with a roll hem.
So nice! The owner will be ready for a special 2011 Christmas dinner.

Love these. Another idea to add to the 3 mile long list, but really close to the top:)

I love those, very pretty. Would you mind telling me what fabric you used? Just regular quilting cotton, or something heavier weight, or linen?
Oh, I just love them. Wish I knew how to use my quilting and embroidery machine. The receiver of these napkins are so lucky. To pretty to use.
Great job!

I used linen. The napkins really stitch out beautifully. Start getting to know your machine you will love it.

Wow, I would never have guessed it was your 1st quilt, lovely colours (colors) and pattern. I have just started my 1st quilt and hope it turns out half as good as yours has.

Very nice.
Clever idea!!
They look fantastic and so professional. What kind of stabalizer did you us?
Beautiful...! But, can I make one suggestion? If you are going to make these napkins, don't do them in white. I have embroidered/made loads of this type, but get a soft color or small print instead. My awful experiences have been that if they are used...and they should be, that is what they are for...they look terrible after a couple uses because you cannot get all the food/drink stains out of them. You can try soaking, etc., but you have to be so careful of the embroidery colors.
My best ones are made in a soft dark gold/brown blended fabric and the designs are embroidered in light colors. They really show up nice and little "stains" are not at all noticeable. |
I used tear a way stabilizer. I like the idea of using another color fabric other then white. even a light tan etc. Thanks for the suggestions.
These are fantastic! I'd love a set myself :)
Very pretty napkins.
The light tan, gold, sounds good. But, also consider a dark napkin. If these are Christmas ones, what about a dark green, or red. Even splitting them, making 6 green and 6 red would be good. Also, I have done them on navy blue, and they were terrific looking!! Using lighter embroidery colors, with some gold threads, they were absolutely gorgeous. Looked extremely expensive!!
Very Nice work. You did a great job.
Beautiful napkins.
