I been working on some Christmas Presents because of my budget i am making most of them this year these are Garbage Bag Dispensers

tlrnhi 10-03-2009 08:38 PM

Those are cute!!!

I really should make some of those for my house.
I have a TON of plastic grocery bags. We use them for the dreaded cat box.

sharon b 10-03-2009 09:06 PM

I like those and they are practical, something people can use
Not that they don't use the other things we make, but sometimes they are afraid to use them :? Hope that makes sense

tlrnhi 10-03-2009 09:18 PM

Makes sense to me! :)

SulaBug 10-03-2009 10:14 PM

Your Christmas projects are
really great!! :D What a nice
idea for gifts. I should make
some, too!!
:D :D :D

NorBanaquilts 10-04-2009 03:44 AM

I love those bag holders, I've made some for gifts too and everyone liked them.

DA Mayer 10-04-2009 04:30 AM

We just remodeled our kitchen and I was thinking I need on of those, I wish I was on your Christmas list. I have been good most of the year, and I promise I will be good until Christmas. Maybe you could send one to Santa and he could bring it to my house.

MollieSue 10-04-2009 04:35 AM

Those are all really nice, Jerrie!! :D

Chilly Mac 10-04-2009 04:58 AM

Great idea and practical too!

Boston1954 10-04-2009 07:29 AM

Wonderful!! My sister gave me one like that. I love it. What a nice way to give of yourself and not break the bank.

sewjoyce 10-04-2009 07:33 AM

Those are not only cute, but very practical! Way to go! :D

beachlady 10-04-2009 08:04 AM

I like those Jerrie and I should make some. Love you choice of fabrics.

Those look wonderful. Very thoughtful and practical. Great presents.

Debbie1 10-04-2009 09:57 AM

Those are great!

Barbm 10-04-2009 10:20 AM

Great presents- I love the burgundy and cream one.

(This is a definite gift they can use- tell them they will help the environment by recycling.)

Moonpi 10-04-2009 11:23 AM

What handy creations!

Sandy1951 10-04-2009 11:33 AM

I like those, too. I'm not sure I have a favorite, although the burgundy might be a bit more striking. Excellent idea and they'll make great gifts. I used to have a Rubbermaid plastic bag dispenser, but it was very utilitarian and too small besides. Yours look like they should hold a good number of bags.

Janstar 10-04-2009 11:55 AM

Great gift ideas Jerrie! I finally made one for myself and love it!

Harmony 10-04-2009 12:26 PM

I've been intending to make some of these too! I want one for myself, but they would make good Christams gifts. How hard were they to do?

Esqmommy 10-04-2009 12:33 PM

Love those. If you were in my family, I'd be HONORED to get such a lovely home-made gift. They are so meanigful. Have fun giving them out!

motomom 10-04-2009 04:49 PM

Very cute and useful too!

RedGarnet222 10-04-2009 05:16 PM

Hey Jerrie,
You and I are thinking alike. I am sewing many of my presents this year too.

I like you bag holders. I am sure the people that get them will enjoy the practicality of them, even though they are pretty to look at.

wvdek 10-04-2009 05:24 PM

Great gift ideas.
As some of the others, I have one (almost worn out) and need a new one. Only I'm thinking longer. DD uses em for the cats, too.

fluffbug95 10-04-2009 05:53 PM

Those are really cute! I love the colors you used! :)

They are very easy to make do it like you are making a 12 inch square the blocks are 3.5 inch i did 6 across and 6 down make a casing for elastic on one end and a casing for a tie that is it and sew it close

earthwalker 10-04-2009 10:12 PM

Jerrie, those are just beautiful....love your fabric choices. Saving the planet and giving the perfect gifts...I think you've nailed it!

Sheila Elaine 10-04-2009 10:58 PM

Jerri, those are great. You gave me a great idea for some stocking stuffers I need to make.

Quilt4u 10-05-2009 01:46 AM

Very nice.

gaigai 10-05-2009 01:54 AM

That is a great idea! I may have to "borrow" it! Thanks for showing your work, those bag holders are lovely! And I really like that they seem bigger than some of the very little ones I've seen that only hold a few bags.

littlehud 10-05-2009 08:47 PM

Those are great. I love the colors in the last one, but would be happy to get any of them.

May in Jersey 10-06-2009 05:13 AM

Love your bags, especially the patchwork fabric you made for them. Keep up the great work. May in Jersey

Quilting Aggi 10-06-2009 05:21 AM

Very cute!!! We call them 'ditty bags' here.. not quite sure why!! LOL I have one I keep in my pantry and I have another one down in my laundry room. they are great to have around and they certainly keep all the plastic bags in a more controlled environment!

maggiemuggins 10-06-2009 11:33 AM

Great idea! and the colours are so pretty...think I might need some of these too...thanks for the idea.

Brazen 10-06-2009 11:40 AM

I made one of those for myself, but yours are much more attractive!! I will try a patchwork one, as well!

GladGrams 10-06-2009 11:30 PM

Does anyone have a pattern for the bag holder? I would so enjoy making one as a gift.

Bevanger 10-07-2009 04:20 AM

i sure like those. what a neat gift idea :D

Brazen 10-07-2009 05:37 AM

GladGrams, I used this pattern:
http://www.dioramarama.com/patterns/

I made mine pretty huge... we have both a dog and a cat to clean up after. hehe And I used the same fabric scheme she did... but I like the patchwork idea lots better!!

Hunnib 10-07-2009 09:31 AM

Great idea for a gift and I really love yours. I can't believe I've never made any...it's been on my list though, if that counts, lol!

That's what I like about this board: we piggy-back off of each other's ideas. I will definitely try this one. I made one of those bags using a souvenier wine sack (from a grandchilds trip to Mt. Vernon). I had no use for it in it's original state, so I ripped out the bottom and added elastic on both ends. Now I'll have to try my hand at the patchwork bag. Thanks.

amma 10-07-2009 01:13 PM

Very Pretty and so practical too, what wonderful gifts :D :D :D
