Christmas quilt
 

This is one of favourite Christmas quilts that I have made. The pattern is from A Piece of Cake Designs and it is called Welcome to the North Pole. I made it with my MIL and it is all needle turned applique - which I had not done before. Quite a challenge but well worth it.

I started one several years ago. That's one of my ufo's that I really do hope to get done someday. I love their stuff, but I don't have the patience for hand applique. My other ufo is a cathedral window, which is also all done by hand. Someday........ Your piece is beautiful!

I haven't seen that design before, and I do like it. Yours came out great - lots of wonderful fabric choices.

I've seen this quilt done a million times, and every time I see it, it's like the first time!!. it's so beautiful! if I were a kid again, i'd be looking at all the goodies I could eat. it's just so fun!! you did a fabulous job making this quilt. a lot to be proud of. an heirloom

that is so clever and you did a beautiful job! How big is it?

It would take me all year to make something like that and that would be with glue-on machine blanket stitch!

It was so fun to look at each block to see the different fabrics and embellishments. This must have taken quite a while to make even with you both working on it.

I loved this pattern so much that I had to track it down. I ordered the pattern book tonight. Maybe if I start as soon as I get it, I will have it finished by next Christmas. :shock:

A friend and I each bought this book many years ago and sorry to say neither one of us have come anywhere close to making this quilt..thank you very much for posting it I love it and would like to think it would serve as an inspiration. Beautiful job!!!
