Christmas table runner

2 Attachment(s)
I was working on a Christmas quilt and miscue a few dozen half square triangles :(. After buying some more fabric, I put the miscut pieces aside while I continued with the quilt (which still isn't done BTW). I finally decided to make a table runner with them, and here is the result. I did limited quilting, just some stitch in the ditch for the colored triangles using red SoFine thread with silver metallic Yenmet thread in thenhalf-circles and the piano key border. Too bad the pictures don't show the shiny metallic thead better - it is very sparkly! It did take a bit of fiddling to get the tension correct on my Sweet 16 with the metallic thread, but it was worth it.

To Patsynel--Your runner is beautiful. However, I am writing about the saying at the bottom of your post. It brightened my day today--I absolutely love it and thank you so much--God Bless you.

Great use of miscut blocks. I have a stack of many messed up blocks. I might be able to make a few quilts or table runners. I've never made table runners but you've inspired me!!!

Well, looked like you made a wonderful "mistake."

CanoePam 02-26-2015 01:47 PM

Thanks folks. I do love the colors. The Christmas quilt the squares were originally destined for is actually a scrappy kit with probably 40+ separate fabrics Ina wonderful combo of traditional Christmas fabrics, batiks, and other coordinating fabrics. It is wonderful, and I intend on finishing it before next Christmas. It is the most complex quilt I have ever done, so I have a ways to go.
