I made a tube method mousepad cover using smaller dimensions than the 2 1/2" and 4 1/2" shown in the demo video. Came out very nice. Just have to have the larger piece equal the width of the two smaller strips AFTER they're sewn together.
It's SO helpful when pictures are posted and such fun to see what our quilting friends are making. Love this site!

Yesterday morning on my PBS station, Sewing With Nancy, had a demo on the tube blocks. She only used 2 colors and made one huge block, but the principle is the same. I was wondering how it would look to just sew all kinds of strips together and then cut them???

Oh, this is so Christmasy!

I need someone to tell me about this tube metheod. I must have missed it somewhere. I like what I see and would like to get rid of come scraps and this looks like it might work.

check out:
http://blog.missouriquiltco.com/2009...tally-tubular/

(you could probably just find it at

missouriquiltco.com

and then search on tube method)

The video has one dimension wrong -- all you need to remember is that the wider strip must be equal to the width of the two narrower strips AFTER they're sewn together.
