What I do with towels is I crochet tops to them and hang on towel rod ot oven handle

wash cloths, hand towels, dish cloths, and so on. and yes materila can be used, I haven't tried a quilted piece yet on the towels. Mary

i have been using small washclothes to practice with the embroidery machine before i do the real thing

The emblibrary also has some really good project that will help with all your question on how to do towels or tee. plus what stablizers to use
