Christmas Tree paper pieced

I have completed a paper pieced Christmas Tree. It is a miniature of Sage Country Quilts Christmas Tree. I gridded the photo and enlarged it. My finished size is 30" x 40". I want to attach a photo but I do not see the "insert image" icon. This is my first time trying this.
Mary

P.S. I changed my avatar to show it.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH sounds so nice, love to paperpiece so hope to see a pic! :)

cjackaitlin 12-17-2012 12:07 PM

Mary, that is a beautiful tree. I can't post either, so I can't help ypu.

Wow..that looks complicated!!! Well done you!! My brain won't compute to sewing back to front!!!! I so admire people who do master the technique!!! When you want to post pics click on 'quick reply', along the top there are several icons on the far right there is a square with a tree in it click on that and it will take you to upload pictures!! Hope this helps!!

Thank you CoventryUK. I tried and there are no icons showing. Maybe one day. I paper piece using a folding method. I do not sew thru the paper but sew next to the folded paper. Makes it easier to figure out the size of the next piece of fabric. Tricky in the begining and the paper can be used again and again.

You need to change your general settings to WYSIWYG. On the turquoise menu bar at the top of your screen click "Forum Actions". Then click General settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page under Miscellaneous Options and click the button for "Enhanced Interface Full WYSIWYG editing". Click the blue save settings box at the bottom. Like magic you will see the little tree icon for inserting images.

Edited to add your tree looks very nice.

Love it, so pretty. To upload a picture you have to scroll down to "manage attachments", click on browse to find your picture ( I usually put it on my desktop to locate it quickly), then click on upload. When you see the name of your picture come up your uploading was successful.

Thank you feline fanatic. It took me awhile but I got it. Here is the tree in various stages. I figure it took about 20 hours to do.

Please tell me where you got the pattern. The last time I saw this tree it was not paper pieced. Thank you in advance.

BMP 12-17-2012 04:58 PM

I just got this pattern, opened it up to look at it and it looks pretty involved so it will wait until next fall to get done...

alikat110 12-17-2012 05:55 PM

Great job.

xsquilter 12-17-2012 07:57 PM

Oh, I really like it! You did a great job! I love paper-piecing so I may just have to get this pattern in the new year!
And look at that, you're just "up the road" from me!

That is one gorgeous tree.

Quilter 65 12-18-2012 05:24 AM

Just beautiful. I am trying simple little flying geese and the first thing I did was cut part of it off when I trimmed. You have it mastered, it would appear. Lovely.

sewnsewer2 12-18-2012 05:28 AM

Very very pretty!

nabobw 12-18-2012 05:33 AM

Love the one I made but did not paper piece it.

scrap adict 12-18-2012 06:13 PM

I graphed my own pattern to 30 x 40 inches. I had to decide where to cut the pieces to PP. I was going to English piece it but that was going to be time consuming. I do not sew thru the paper when I PP so I can use it over and over. I was shown at my LQS. PM me and I will send you my pattern. I have yet to scan it in the computer. Will do it tomorow.

Hi mary,
I love your tree but I am pretty sure this is a copyrighted pattern. Be careful sharing it with others. I would not want you to be in trouble.

tymia 12-19-2012 04:33 AM

Absolutely love it. What is paper piecing? Is it actual paper or what. I know that sounds stupid, but I am new to quilting.
