My son is having a yard sale to clear out his house and also raise funds to move to Tennessee. So I pulled out a huge stack of Christmas fabrics and spent the last 4 days making dozens of trivets, pot holders, mug rugs, pillow covers, ornaments, etc. that he could sell inexpensively in his yard sale this Saturday. Shipped them all off today. Whew. The picture shows just a few.

cool items to sell, thanks for sharing with us

purrfectquilts 11-08-2010 11:46 AM

Hopefully, they will sell well. Of course, most of them have a cat theme.....so if you don't like kitties, maybe not. I was using some fabric panels I had on hand.

quiltlonger 11-08-2010 11:47 AM

Very nice. And could come in hand for those "new" neighbors and friends when get moved or memories to those he's leaving behind if all your treasures don't turn into cash.

Darlene 11-08-2010 11:47 AM

You are a great Mother and I know they will sell.

purrfectquilts 11-08-2010 11:48 AM

He knows. He loves it as much as we do. Our place is back on a ridge in the boon docks, very peaceful and private. He has 5 and a half children, so it will be a nice place to raise them .... instead of the huge city where they now live.

purrfectquilts 11-08-2010 11:49 AM

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments. Makes the time I spent seem like it will be worth it for him.

Are those what people on the board are calling "mug rugs"? If they are, and not trivets, how large are they? They are really cute!!!

purrfectquilts 11-09-2010 03:40 AM

I made the mug rugs (coasters) both five and six inches depending on the fabric scraps I was using. I made the trivets ten or eleven inches, again depending on the scraps i was using up. Pot holders I like to make at least ten inches, although most of those you buy are smaller.
