Oh I like that!

What are your WIP options?

Shadow Dancer 01-04-2010 01:28 PM

I have another scrappy quilt started, Granny's Stars in 1930s prints, 6 of 20 blocks made, a french braid with embroidered butterflies in the center of each braid that needs two more braids, and another embroidered quilt that I can't remember the thread colors I used! LOL

Edit: OHHHH and a christmas quilt!

patricej 01-04-2010 01:51 PM

that quilt is toooo cute!!!

it's for me, right?

redquilter 01-04-2010 02:04 PM

That's a great quilt. Glad you are sewing again. Feeling better & stronger? Let's hope the New Year will be very kind to you.

Boston1954 01-04-2010 02:20 PM

Marvelous!! I love your color choices. What are you doing for the stitching?

barnbum 01-04-2010 02:36 PM

That's great--it looks old fashioned. Is the border gray or blue? I love scrappy!!

Jingle 01-04-2010 02:49 PM

I am glad you are feeling better and back to quilting. The quilt looks awesome.

Is that Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville's Chunky Churn Dash? If not it looks just like it. We are doing a block swap of these blocks for Feb. Can't wait. I am sewing two sets of each color combo - keeping one - trading one. I should be able to get a quilt out of it when I decided what the setting hst is going to be!!!
Love your Chunky!!!

Nice quilt. The french braid with butterflies gets my vote. I want to see it :o)

rootyr 01-04-2010 03:39 PM

Very nice!

Shadow Dancer 01-04-2010 03:41 PM

This one is being sent to a long arm quilter. I am sewing, but I get tired and sore. Quilting it myself is pushing the envelope and I don't want to end up not being able to sew again.

The border is blue with pink paisley, I thought it suited the quilt and really like how it came out. :)

And yes, this is the chunky churn dash pattern on quiltville.com. :)

wookie130 01-04-2010 03:43 PM

I'm loving it!!!!

butterflywing 01-04-2010 03:46 PM

i really like the way the brighter colors pop out of the softer border and alternate blocks. glad you're well enough for major projects again, but you're right to know what the limit is. keep well.

Bettia 01-04-2010 03:49 PM

Shadow, so glad to see that you're back at your machine and with a lovely result to boot! Please take it easy, we've missed you and don't want to see a relapse.

The world is your oyster, SD! Just finish the fun ones. In your case that would be ALL of them. No hurry, there's plenty of time. Just enjoy those finishes which I know you love!

Beautiful!! Great work.. We are all glad that you are sewing again too...

Elisabrat 01-04-2010 05:35 PM

there is something really healing about being able to create again.. and proving to yourself you can do it. Just go slow. It wont go anywhere. This way you can get stronger and still feel good about what your doing without any regrets. I love the quilt and my you have a few UFO's to work on. Challenge? not to start ANY NEW ones.. that is a tough one.

mcdaniel023 01-04-2010 06:24 PM

Beautiful quilt, SD. I love that it looks as if it may have been made years ago. Take care of yourself.

I already decided I wasn't starting any new ones until I finished all the ones I started before surgery. I just didn't count on it taking so long to get back sewing, didn't get any Christmas things made at all. Oh well, there is always next Christmas. :)

littlehud 01-04-2010 08:14 PM

Thank you all for your kind words! :) Still contemplating which work in progress will get my attention next...thinking Granny's Stars is looking good, 1930's prints are so cheerful!! :)

ranger 01-05-2010 04:47 AM

I like the pattern and the color combo looks great.
I'm glad to see that you're back at quilting again. It's great therapy...and you get to create something beautiful. Remember not to overdo it....get plenty of rest.
