Circle Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
This is a quilt I made for my granddaughter. It is a pattern from Quilters Haven. Love doing it, as after you have finished making the circle and putting them together, you are finished. No quilting. YEA! My granddaughter loves black and white, so she was quite pleased with this, I added red yo-yos to add a little punch to it.

Very nice. So you quilt it as you go? How do you attach the circles to each other?

RuthEm 11-08-2011 03:04 PM

That is a beautiful quilt and know your daughter will appreciate it!! That is a fast pattern because when you're finished, it's done!!

Mariposa 11-08-2011 03:09 PM

VivianW 11-08-2011 03:43 PM

That is beautiful - is the pattern called "circles"? Is it a quilt as you go?

sammie 11-08-2011 03:44 PM

I love the circles and touch of red... could you write the name of the pattern and if you had to use a special tool to make your circles..
thanks

Quiltbeagle 11-08-2011 05:00 PM

What a lovely gift to make for her! It's very nice. I'm making a quilt like this, but alternating the colors on the back to make the Robbing Peter to Pay Paul pattern. I had no idea there were instructions anywhere for it... wish I had known. How do you do your batting?

spartan quilter 11-08-2011 05:18 PM

You have combined 2 of my bucket list quilts, a black and white and a circle. What a great idea. It is just fabulous. She will love it. You have inspired me. Maybe I will really get at mine now. lol

jj82 11-08-2011 05:23 PM

Isn't this a very large cathedral window?

RuthFru 11-08-2011 05:29 PM

WOW, it is so pretty and sounds easy.

Absolutely lovely

Kitsie 11-08-2011 07:31 PM

OOOOH! I really like that!

isnthatodd 11-08-2011 07:38 PM

I started one of these as a sort of I Spy for a donation quilt and have about half the circles done. I also sewed a few together to see how it would work, but yours is so nice I may have to modify mine. The yo-yo idea would really help mine where the squares come together.

Just beautiful!

LOve it!! You did a great Job

jodyquilts 11-08-2011 08:41 PM

Not sure exactly what it is called. Quilters Haven is the web site, Charlie is the lady that designed this. I met her at the Trinity Valley Quilt Show in Fort Worth. She has a number of books and special rulers you use to make the circles. Check out her web site.

Your little yo-yo's are the ultimate touch. I love anything that is QAYG. This one is great and a technique I had forgotten about. Thanks for the reminder.

jodyquilts 11-08-2011 08:46 PM

Much easier to do than cathedral window. Check out post from NGeorgia, she gave Quilters Haven, which I used plus another one that gives free instructions. I do recommend that you use Thermore batting, as it is quite thin and works well when you turn your petals.

jodyquilts 11-08-2011 08:49 PM

Check out Quilters Haven for video instructions. Charlie is the instrutor.

ruthie 11-08-2011 09:56 PM
