Your inner and outer borders are really well done, the tiny thin line of red sets off the thistles. All together just wonderful.

WOW WOW and WOW. That thing is awesome.

I am posting the photo and the wall hanging. I still have to add batting and backing; quilt it, bind it and then give it to him on Christmas Eve. His birthday is the 27th of December.
1st the photograph and 2nd the wall hanging. Yolanda Wood River

I am thinking Cliffs of Mohr also....Such a beautiful place. which your landscape definatly shows.

We were there about 15 years ago on an absolutely beautiful day...no fencing and the little retailers and the musicians....I still get chills! We went back 3 years ago for our 25 wedding anniversary and the changes...oh sigh...fencing...shops...and no music....but there was a true Irish mist...just a soft rain.....

mumzer 12-19-2012 05:27 PM

We were there, too, in '97, on a beautiful sunny day and before they made it so commercial. It was just a walk up a path, beside which a woman sat playing a guitar and singing, and then at the top those wild, sheer cliffs! I'll never forget that sight. My DS and DIL (she's Irish) went back a few years later and he was so glad he saw it before all the "improvements" ......ugh!

Yolanda, this is amazing!! My eldest daughter visited the Cliffs of Moher in 2005 and was also inspired to make an art quilt from her series of photos. We had so much fun gathering all sorts of fabrics for the different textures she wanted to incorporate. I will ask her for a photo of that quilt so I can hopefully post here.

littlebitoheaven 12-22-2012 06:35 PM

What lovely stories and memories. You both have helped bring this beautiful spot to life for me. Thank you. Yolanda

Ploverwi2: Above your post (box if you will) there are six icons. The 3rd one to the right of the "envelope" is the icon for posting photographs. A box will come up - there is a tab "from computer" or "URL" photos, with a "browes" option. Click the "browes" option and it will take you to your computer. Find the photo (jpeg) that you want to upload and select it. When it shows up in the blank space, select "upload files". Give it time. It will appear under your text as letters and numbers and when you hit the "post" button (wait a bit) it will show up under your text. You will also have a chance to "edit" your text if you find a mistake. Try it and see how it goes. It really is not that difficult. Once you do it you will see that it works well. If you have any problems, let me know and I will try to help you further. Yolanda Wood River
