Cliffs in Ireland Wall Hanging for my DS's 54th b'day

My DS and DDIL went to Ireland and took this photo. My son loves it and so do I. I decided to try my hand at a landscape wall hanging and this is the result. I am posting the photo and the wall hanging. I still have to add batting and backing; quilt it, bind it and then give it to him on Christmas Eve. His birthday is the 27th of December.
1st the photograph and 2nd the wall hanging. Yolanda Wood River

Wonderful landscape, you did a really good job intepreting it. I have wanted to try one, but hope mine will turn out as well as yours.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Diet Dr. Pepper in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

What an amazing job and the photo really lends itself, as few do, to fabric recreation. I am so very impressed, I can't begin to tell you how much I admire your art.

    Congratulations

How do you do this? I have seen other pic of this and wonder how you do it. Is there a class or a book tell you how to do it. It is beautiful.
