Love it!

pjnesler 10-31-2011 04:57 AM

How nice! like the idea of doing a cathedral window this way - I have some of my mom's old jumpers I could use this technique on - been wondering what to do with them!

>>>>> Does anyone know if there is a "Cathedral Window" set of cutters for those "GO" cutting machines that would work for this? I don't have one of the machines, but this could sway me! :!:

LeslieSkelly 10-31-2011 05:15 AM

Wow, I want to do one of those. Looks great!

I love it, it should be nice and warm. I have made a small cathredal window wall hanging and may just have to make a denim quilt also. Very cute.

did you do a small zig-zag around 1/2 moons??

I discovered that also but the site that Tealady mentioned is still there and has good instructions.

I slept under it last night. It actually slid off the bed. Right now it is very stiff from all the glue I used. 2+ bottles. It will soften when I wash it today. I glued the batting in place, then the fabric on top. Then glued the flaps closed before zigzagging them down. Pins are difficult to to work with on this.
But the straw.com site has good instructions and pics.
Thanks for all the compliments!

It's beautifully executed. Your circles are perfect.

No longer there I was told.

When I clicked the link it said information no longer available and offered 6 free quilt patterns which are old traditional patterns around everywhere. Bummer.

If and when I do one I think I will either eliminate the middle layer or use flannel so it is not so heavy. Thanks for the tip regarding the glue, I use a glue tecnique in many of my quilts. Did you use denim on the back also?

looking good! very, very nice! i've been piling up old jeans for a special project.

i also found yardage from long ago that i'll use. thanks for the inspiration!

abdconsultant 11-05-2011 07:06 AM

cool, is it heavy?

tealady 11-21-2011 07:15 PM

Heavy can be a relative term. :) I do not find it too heavy. It is heavy enough to be warm, but I don't think it is cumbersome to sleep under.

Taughtby Grandma 11-21-2011 07:33 PM
