Collage Rooster
1 Attachment(s)
I have finished my collage rooster! It was such fun! I learned a lot about using colour and quickly moved on to a pet collage which is at the thread painting stage.
The pattern is one of Emily Taylor's and she has two groups on FaceBook if you want to see more pictures etc. |
Fabulous! Hope to see more of these fellas
|
Wow I really like it! |

I love black and white version! Very handsome. I like the brightly colored ones, too. It is just fun to see a different take.

That's so awesome. You did fantastic on the fabric selections for that handsome fella!

that is great! I have to try one of those collages this year!
|
He is one gorgeous fella... no wonder he struts! He reminds me of a barred rock rooster we used to have as a pet.
|
He is so handsome that I can just see the chicks going crazy for him. Super job. BrendaK
|
Fantastic rooster!! How many different fabrics did you use on him??
|
Nicely done! Love the use of black & white fabric for body and a splash of red and orange for head and feet.
Fabric Collage seems to be the "IN" thing and I am anxious to give it a try. I am intrigued by Susan Carlson's work and am considering taking her Online Master Class on Fabric Collage. I will check out Emily Taylor ... Thanks for the heads up. |
Just tried to look her up on facebook and there are so many.
|

|

Very regal looking fella...thanks for sharing.
Do you stitch the pieces down or just rely on a fusible to hold in place. I can see my 10 yo GD wanting to do something like this and fusing would be just the ticket for her. |
He's a mighty handsome fella. Fantastic job.
|
Beautifully done. Love how you arranged the fabrics to make such a pattern. The background fabric is so appropriate for that wonderful rooster.
|
Love your rooster. I just finished a stained glass rooster wall hanging.

That came out great. Good choice on the background fabric. :)

Mr. Rooster is awesome, and I like the sparkley button eye.

It depends what the artwork is for. If it's for a wall hanging, I think the fusible works very well. But then, I usually do line quilting which catches a lot of the "ends" of fabric pieces. If I was using it for a quilt, I would do more stitching as it would go into a washer and dryer.

Your rooster will be the "cock of the walk". This handsome guy should win a blue ribbon at the fair.

Thanks tebill..HeatNBond Lite is sewable, but the Ultra makes for a sticky needle when quilting.

Nice Rooster.

You did a fabulous job. I follow Emily’s FB group and I love her teaching videos. I think yours is one of the best roosters.
