Colorful baby quilt
 

I made this for my little great nephew. Jaxson was born with severe, bilateral club feet so I wanted to make him something colorful that his mom could bring with for his many doctor appointments ect. He is the happiest little baby and despite his casts and surgeries, he always has a smile on his face :) funny thing is, he prefers the back of the quilt lol!

Just a bit crazy.... I sent this out to be long armed because I'm terrified to free motion quilt and wanted it special. Rhonda Dranter quilted it for me. She always does a fantastic job!! Lol I don't even know what a pattern board is!

I would say I don't know which is more precious, your nephew or the quilt. But I do, your nephew is a sweetheart. The first thing out ot my mouth was AH, AH, AH!!! Please tell me the name of the pattern. I would love to gift the clerk at the local Walgreens who is expecting with one similiar. Keep up the good work!:thumbup:

A very cute quilt for a super cute little man. I have a nephew that went through the same procedures as a baby and he is now a very successful 22 year old young man. I hope that your great nephew has the same successful results.

The name of the pattern is Diamond Patch. I bought the pattern from Annies Crafts. If you google the pattern you can see it in other color combinations also

Mamabear: thank you for the encouragement. I am so happy to hear that your nephew is doing so well! Correcting club feet, especially when severe is quite a process. But Jaxson has fabulous parents and they are very happy with the care he is receiving and the doctors are very positive.

It is amazing what kids can go through and still be happy. I think a lot of that is 'inborn', and with a good set of positive parents encouraging him to be happy in spite of whatever life brings his way, he'll be just fine.

I like both sides of the quilt, but Jaxson has a buddy on the back, and the dots are probably more fascinating to him. Great job!

I understand exactly what your family is going through , my son was born with severe talipes equinovarus of his right foot - one of the many variants of club foot. He is now a strapping 6ft 4 ins 19 year old and has no ill effects from the condition now .

Gorgeous Jaxson, quilt and colors. He is such a sweetie.

My son was born with a club foot 40 years ago and is now quite the athlete!!! He also had casts most of his first year and a couple of surgeries, the last one just before he turned 6. Praying all goes well and he looks like he is enjoying his quilt!!!
