not so many circles and only one of the big ones! Just my vote!
Hi GMCSEWER, I live in OKC, and have a cabin at Lake Eufaula and your colors for Oklahoma Spring are spot on! I love the spring when the redbuds, dogwoods, and everything else is bursting with color!
I love string quilts and this design is so unique. I like it without the circles...LOVE it with the circles. Looking forward to seeing the completed quilt. Oh, so sorry about your fall, I experiened the same thing a few years ago, still have pain but can ignore it to do what I love, quilting! |
I concur - I like the circles and the vertical presentation over the horizontal. Nicely done!
I agree with Cris. There is already a lot of visual interest...enough to keep the eye and mind busy. The circles would be a little toward overload. Very nicely done.
I love the simpler look of it without the circle but either way it is gorgeous!
I agree with many people so far: the circles give it some nice motion, but the largest are just too big for the top, but might be great on the backing. I do love your colors and shapes, with or without the circles!
I like it without the circles. Make another masterpiece using them :-)
It's already good, but the circles definitely add "punch" to it.
I'm no help. I can't decide. It is so interesting even without the circles. But the circles are cool too. I like your colors and the variation of the prints.
I am trying to think of a way to be able to attach or detach the circles. Any ideas?
I like it better without the circles. Very pretty quilt.
Just beautiful! OK, IMO no circles wouldn't be a mistake ... however, I think it would add interest with the circles, but an odd number (5 or 7) and IMO, the largest one at the bottom is too big ... it seems overpowering.
I LOVE the colors, love the detail -- restful yet engaging. I really look forward to the finished product whatever you decide. Thank you! |
Circles!!! Of course! They are fun!
Please show us after you make the final decision! :) |
Here is the finished Oklahoma Spring. It is hanging by the bed in our bedroom where I pass it several times a day. I am happy with the outcome.

Is there another post with a picture of the completed top? I cannot see a picture and the message is that it is an invalid attachment. Thank you. Would really love to see the completed quilt. It is beautiful without the circles but would look so good with them too. I REALLY would like to see what you have done, please. Thank you.

your color choices are marvelous. I think I prefer the circles because they add so much motion to the quilt's design but I think I'd limit the number--maybe three or five. "They" say an odd number works best because you can't be symmetrical and that seems to work. Placement will take some fiddling with I suspect. The quilt is beautiful either way though. You can't go wrong.

I like the circles. I love the colors too.
Forget the circles. I love the quilt & the bright colors.
