colors of Oklahoma spring
2 Attachment(s)
I am posting a picture of my newest quilt top, Oklahoma spring. It was inspired by Carol Wilson's colours of Australia. I am not sure if I want to put the circles on over the design I have now. Please comment

I love it without the circles, it is so cool!!!!
I love it with circles. They kind of finish it up. IMHO AND I love it vertical rather than horizontal.
i VOTE FOR CIRCLES. wonderful. I live in OK, too.
I like the circles, try auditioning with the circles arranged in different ways and maybe fewer circles. Love the idea!!
I love the circles too & was going to say, play with arranging them on it, till you are happy with it! They do really add to the quilt, kind of make it pop, actually! Great job too, I love the colors!
It is gorgeous with or without the circles! Keep playing with placement of the circles, not quite right yet on that IMHO.

It is really pretty either way. However, I also vote for the circles. They add another dimension and excitement to an already beautiful quilt!

i like it both ways, but, as previously said, i like it vertical as well.
With circles. They add dimension and interest. Vertical for me.
I love it, and I vote for circles.
I vote with circles
Mmmm, i like it without the circles myself. they hide the work before. but it's your quilt and if you love it with them on, go for it!!

I think it needs the circles. They are the flowers blooming among the leaves. I like it much better. Looks like a lot of work!
I like it better without the circles too, it is such an interesting pattern!
I like it both ways. With the circles is much more fun. As others have suggested, try rearranging them for more balance and try overlapping a few of them for more depth. I would also trying a couple right on the edge of the quilt by folding them just to see what it looks like and how about folding a few right around to the back of the quilt so you see some from both sides! ooooh! Love the strata style of the top. It is going to be so cool when Finished.

I like it without the circles, reminds me of the windy Oklahoma panhandle.
Funky! Love it and would use the circles. They add to it.
I love the circles at all different angles!! Really add interest!
without circles. love the colors . nice quilt
Neat quilt and its very pretty!!!!
I love the circles, said the gal from Oklahoma City!
It is a great quilt but I would go for less circles IMHO
Like the circles. Will you satin stitch them in black? Would make them pop!
Love the contemporary colors and design! Kudos!
I like it both ways but really do love the circles. I think they give it a lot of diminsion.
Love the colors, but do NOT like the circles.
I liked it without circles til I saaw the 2nd pic. I like it with the circles, they add to it. Perhaps need to audition them, not use so many, but I think they finish it off.
I may not ever finish it as I love to keep rearranging the circles. I can't sew right now as I injured my left arm in a fall so will have a few more days (weeks?) to sew them down. Thanks for all the comments.
my vote is with the circles, somehow it just finishes it off. I agree, play with them til you get what you like for arrangement, then sew it all together. Please post when finished, it'll sure be interesting to see the final outcome.
Just terrific, great job and thank you for sharing, put the circles on.
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
I love it with the circles. Even though it is straight lines, I love the circles to give some flow to the whole thing. Play with placement.
I vote for the circles!
Go with the Circles. It gives the quilt a whole other dimention!!! Fantastic!!
Mmmm, delicious, like a Slice of Raspberry watermelon. The three Big Circles are too big for your quilt top. Would you consider adding a wide Black border around the whole? Or, Divide those 3 big circles into more wedges, and place them on the Back. To me, this looks like a Wall Hanging. Having a back as dramatic as the Front would give you two for one. It is beautiful, whichever direction you go.
I like it just the way it is!!!
Great quilt. You are girl after my own heart.
