Adding a border is like framing the picture Love the fabrics I do so want to do a pink quilt Thanks for sharing

Yes to a border. I sgree that a narrow green border and the wide rose border would be beautiful

JoanneS 07-16-2012 09:55 AM

If you haven't started the borders yet, try a green flange sewn in when you add the rose fabric border. It's much faster/easier than a separate border. Cut the fabric 1" wide. Fold in half lengthwise. Pin or glue raw edge to the edge of the rose border fabric that will be sewn to the quilt. Now you have only one seam to sew instead of 2. Easy peasy!

I think a border would finish it.

I like the border, but I would put a small dark rose color first, then the border. Just my opinion.

I have been bordering quilts about twenty five years and find the border is always a good finishing touch. The best I have found are a color in the top already and maybe one of the same color but darker as using light green and a darker pick on this quilt. Good luck it's a beautiful top.

Beautiful quilt. I love your fabrics. Personally, I think a border or borders polish it off.

I thought the same as Deb :)

Ditto thin green border and then a flowered border or a solid rose border.

mammab 07-16-2012 12:01 PM

That is really great. I like the idea of borders. Maybe a small green one and a larger outer floral border.

Thin green and then flowered. The quilt has a lot of motion and the border will help to slow it down.

anniesews 07-16-2012 01:46 PM

Yes, a nice border will bring it all together.

nccatbird 07-16-2012 05:57 PM

I think the border will bring it all together. I love the colors and pattern. Lovely!

I love your fabrics and design! Nice piecing too. Add the borders to give it that final polish!

grammysharon 07-16-2012 09:05 PM

I agree, I think most quilts need a border to stop your eye!!!! Lovely quilt!!!!

border at least one. maybe a narrow on of the green, then the floral on in your pic.

This quilt top really is straight but I guess it is not pinned on the wall very well.

I agree with the 2 borders: small green and the larger rose pattern. This is going to be a lovely quilt.

solstice3 07-18-2012 08:18 AM

I would add a border

I also agree with a thin green inner border then the large floral for the outer border. Beautiful fabric and a lovely quilt!

maxo 07-25-2012 03:11 PM

I agree, first you need like a 1" solid border to frame it then add the second. This will make the quilt pop...IMHO

It will be a pretty quilt with or without borders! The colors looks so soft! :)

travelingquilter 10-09-2012 03:51 PM

i like the borders, as they are like a picture frame..they hold the quilt together, especially if the border picks up the darker or brighter colors in the quilt.

Lovely quilt, great job and thank you for sharing, 2 borders
Have a Blessed night

It actually looks great both ways but for some reason I lean toward with borders for this one.
