This is a BEAUTIFUL quilt. Great work. And very nice colors.

Moonpi 05-27-2009 02:34 PM

Pretty! I have often wondered if quilts pieced that way stay soft.

Carm 05-27-2009 02:37 PM

Very pretty :D I love it when the back is as pretty as the front!!

RedGarnet222 05-27-2009 03:00 PM

I don't know both sides are pretty enough to be the top, aren't they? Very fun quilt.

amma 05-27-2009 03:01 PM

Wow!!! Love that both sides are equally pretty!!!! :D :D :D

butterflywing 05-27-2009 03:13 PM

very, very pretty. at first glance they appear to be solids, but when you look again and notice the prints, you see that the print is what really wakes it up. i hope mine looks as great as that. how long did that one take and what size is it?

Blue Bell 05-27-2009 03:21 PM

beautiful quilt.

I started it over a year ago but my mother was ill so it was put on the back burner for quite some time. It's the Gentle Pines pattern. It's supposed to be queen size but I think it would fit on a kind. It's huge.

I like it a lot. It's only cumbersome at the end.

were you able to do that on a regular machine? i know you don't have a lot of space. how did that work out when it was time to put the pieces together?
sometimes what they show on the dvd is not like real life.

Just a regular Singer. I do have a sewing table that I opened up at the end but it worked out fine to my surprise

"Reversible"scares me, especially when you make it look so easy. Nicely done!!!!

beautiful quilt....

sandpat 05-31-2009 04:17 AM

I'm like Madq...reversible is really scary from a quilting standpoint to me. I'm going to have to learn more about "cotton theory"...that is really really cool!

Bevanger 05-31-2009 06:23 AM

l like your colours... very nice

I did a Cotton Theory a few years back. I enjoyed it, but it takes huge amounts of fabric, as all the seams are supposed to be 1"; that's ONE INCH. It's wonderful if you don't want to, or can't any more, handle a big quilt. It's really QAYG, and each time you put a row together, those pieces are all finished. At the end you put the two halves (or thirds, it's easier to do that last seam only a third of the way in) together, and the binding can go on in the usual way, or you can add "sidewalks". I did all the methods she showed: highways, freeways, intersections, one way streets and sidewalks.

That's right, they reverse. I had forgotten. Both sides look great.

I have the book but have not tried the process yet. I have tried other QAYG methods and they seem to work fine. I am always searching for a better way. I need to try her process soon.

blueangel 02-06-2013 07:10 PM

Beautiful..

Canada Kate 02-07-2013 06:36 AM
