What is the name of the first quilt? I love the scrappiness of it, of course, but am wondering if I could get each block out of two pieces from a 10" square layer cake?

What beautiful quilts from scraps. Your stash of scraps must be very low now. Happy Quilting. :D

This is called Path Through the Woods, some call it Sunshine and Shade. I used a pattern from American Patchwork & Quilting, February 2001, page 48. The scraps I used were fat quarters. I don't think a 10" sq. is big enough. each block uses half of a 6 7/8" sq. for each side and 4- 2 7/8" sq of two colors cut in half. Hope this helps.

I found the pattern in Quilters Newsletter Magazine. October 2006. Called Quilt of many Colors. Just kept adding to the scrap box and this came out!
