The kaleidoscope is not difficult...I cut each piece separately and use a transparent template that I can look through and mark so that all pieces are pretty precise, and I do all of my piecing by hand. I love to sew by hand!!

sewjoyce 03-28-2009 01:49 PM

Wow -- they are both beautiful!!

rein 03-28-2009 02:35 PM

They are both quite beautiful -"I do everything by hand" she says - oh to be young - or at least have young hands again!

Pam S 03-28-2009 02:37 PM

They're beautiful. I love your color choices, especially the purple.

Tippy 03-28-2009 07:41 PM

Thanks for all of your kind words.. I'll try to post a few more later, but now I need to get a couple of more tops finished. I have one called Twolips.. pronounced like tulips.. it's from the KC Star patterns and is my first totally applique top done scrappy on white. Just have to find a stripping fabric. The other is another small sampler.

Sweetness 03-28-2009 07:48 PM

I don't think I welcomed you to the board. WELCOME! Thank you for the lovely compliments on my post. Your quilt is gorgeous. You only live once, you should get an embroidery machine :-). Hobbies keep us going.

Yes Jackie, as I said, just what I need is another obsession.. I already do almost everything that has to do with textiles.. including knitting crochet, tatting, needle tatting, embroidery, brazillian embroidery, regular sewing, upholstery (including learning auto upholstery), needle point..gee, what have I missed. I even thought about a class in bobbin lace once, but came to my senses in time.. so if I don't get the machine I have an excuse not to learn..lol..Oh, I forgot that my great gramma taught me to weave rag rugs ..oh and latch hook.................................

amma 04-02-2009 10:17 AM
