Here are a couple of quilts I have finally finished. The B&W is a gift for my MIL for Christmas. The Dresses is a wall hanging, just for me. I put a sleeve on it to hang in my bedroom, and believe it or not, DH was fine with that. I did not do the quilting on either one. Both were quilted by a wonderful gal named Jocelyn at my LQS. The detail on both of them is amazing, but particularly on the Dresses quilt - she copied the dress pattern into the detail on each square. She did that one on her regular machine, free motion style. Amazing, isn't it?

Here's the B&W. This was an incredible challenge to make. the piecing wasn't as hard as I thought, but figuring out color with a B&W is really, really hard!!!!!!!!!

I only saw one quilt and it is darling! How sweet of your husband not to mind the florals in the bedroom. Mine doesn't care either. :D

Yes, it's a NY Beauty and it's my first. I had a marvelous teacher who was extremely generous with her time and assistance. She worked with me on my fabric selection and placement of the blocks to achieve the look. So, it was my piecing, but she contributed so much wisdom. I'm lucky she was my teacher. She's working with me on the Indian Orange Peel I'm making, so you'll continue to see what a talent she truly is. She's in the same league as Freddie Moran and Karen Stone in terms of talent and color design.
|
Esq, your quilts are fabulous! Wow! I was totally amazed with the look of the first one and studied the quilting closely, then I saw the NYB. What a knock-out!!!! The yellow just was perfect. Bravo!
