I am doing a quilt for my GS with large print sports fabrics and am going to alternate a large print block with a 9 patch in coordinating colors. I can strip piece the 9 patches so it will go together quickly.

#5 seems more of my speed. Now I just need to figure out what size too cut the blocks.

No ideas for a pattern, perfect Boy fabric.

How cute is that fabric. Love it. Can't wait to see the finished product.

On the 10 minute block, I think a "solid" always shows off any small "misses" on a point -- more than a pattern does.

I took a long time with the first ones I did too, but then all of a sudden things clicked and it became easy.

Ok, I will try another one tomorrow.

Try the TAKE 5 pattern or EXPRESSIONS.

As I own several western-themed restaurants I am always scoping out cowboy fabrics for wallhangings, etc. 3 great sources include Gruber's quilt shop (waite park), Bay Window Quilts (perham) and Wadena Ben Franklin. If you shop online at all, the first two are worth any hassle and the staff at all three will jump thru hoops to help you! please post finished project pix; can't wait to see it;)

Big blocks to show off the prints. If you cut it up, you will not be able to tell those are boots.

What about a horizontal strip quilt? Cut the strips and use the same layout as in your picture. Maybe cut the blue strips a bit narrower than the two brown fabrics. :D:D:D
