Hi Everyone
This is what I came up with for my sons school Mothers Day Shopping Night......which was a bit of a flop and hardly sold anything! LOL kid sock bags...or pajamas recyclablegift bags...pattern on allpeoplequilt.com big floor cushions....24" square |
Sorry to hear that  Your thing are very nice. Did everyone else not sell??? Been in your shoes. Most of the time people just want something different. It has nothing to do with your work. Trust me. do you have a Flea Mkt that you could sell them??
Well, any lack of sales was certainly not your fault!
You did a great job on all your items. Love your gift bags! Craft fairs can sometimes be a big disappointment, but the next one may sell like hotcakes. |
Yes everyone had the same problem- we have a message centre at work so selling a fair bit through there. And will go to the markets next weekend! Fingers crossed!
I love your stuff especially the pin cushions,...a hint add some velcro to the bottom of them and try to sell.. Its hard to find for your wrist and when pinning the quilts to a frame like I do you really need to be able to have the pins move with you...how much are they? I may but one from you?
I also like the dick and jane pillows! How much are they?
Sorry it didn't go well... But at least you are able to use other means to sell the items
I just love those pincushions. And the rest of the projects were really nice too. I am sorry that your sale was a bust.
Your craft fair items are great. So sorry they didn't do well.
well maybe the next time you have it for sale they will go like hot cakes.
You have beautiful creations there. It surely wasn't your fault that people weren't in the buying mood. I'm sorry you didn't sell more.

I had the pair for $42 |
Don't you just hate it when you do things like that for your schools, and then the people that should do their part by buying, don"t? I did many years of school carnivals, shopping, book night, and it is like there are the same parents that do all the work, and the other kind that come in and want something for nothing. Your items look really nice, you should have sold out!!
Aw, your stuff is wonderful too! I really think people just arent buying things anymore, except things they really need....so I'm sure its just the economy!
awesome items, love the pincushions!
Very nice work. The "sock" or "Pajama" bag could also be marketed as a clothspin bag. I have one that looks like that.
Your work is Great!!!!!
I Love everything.!!!! bopeep |
i love your stuff, i can tell you now, it isn't you...that is everywhere unfortunately :-(

I know there are some cultures that dont celebrate mothers day of course! |
Your stuff is beautiful! I am sorry it didn't sell and you have other possibilities out there. The upside to this is whatever you don't sell...you have lots of ready-made gifts!! Think Christmas..you may not have to shop at all!! LOL
All of your items are wonderful, I know expectation it's a little hard when your disapointed. Your work is always great.
Glad to hear you have a second chance at the market....Good luck and they are great items.
Don't be too discouraged. You keep them for next year and by then people will start to buy. Sometimes, and I've found this with craft shows I do, that the 1st show, people just look. The 2nd, they are getting ready to buy, and by the 3rd time they see it, they're buying. You did great work - those pin cushions are sew pretty!
Sorry people weren't buying. Your items are all beautiful.
People don't want to pay what things are worth now days. If they don't sew or quilt they have no concept of what it cost to make all that stuff. Wow you were a busy beaver. Hope you can sell your things at other places.
Everything is lovely. Sorry you didn't sell much. It happens to all of us. Years ago I had the same experience as did all the other crafters at the sale. By the end of the day we were all trading back and forth. None of us had made any money but we all went home with crafts different from those we had taken. It actually turned out to be a fun day.
Wow... you made a lot... I don't understand what could have happen. Did you have a good showing? Where people buy anything? I wonder just what happen?????? you have some good things here.
Remember, the craft fair was a flop not you! Your items are very cute and well made. Keep up the good work and you will succeed.
Your fair items are so pretty. Don;t get discouraged because not much sold, Christmas is coming, spend $10 on a church bazaar table and watch your handiwork disappear in a heartbeat. I love your pincushions...I collect thimbles but recently my sister asked "do you collect pincushions, too?" I didn't intentionally collect them, I just ended up with lots of them! Nice work, thanks for sharing your talent and skills in pictures with all of us.
I'm so sorry it was a flop but you sure made some beautiful things!
sorry to hear about your sales wow im thinking it must of been the type of crowd you had because from the looks of things you have some great looking crafts ( i like the purses) but you know i have gone to a craft sale and sold 3 or 4 things all day , then took the same stuff to another sale and sold alot of the same stuff , you just never know what kind of mood the buyers are in!! dont give up
That's too bad............Everything looks great! Especially your bags. Open and Etsy store and sell them on there.
Love your work...don't lose heart and keep trying, markets and Etsy might be the best bet.
The're gorgeous. You will sell them later. Economy is not that good right now.
What are Dick and Jane pillows?
Are you selling your pin cushions? |
I have been doing crafts for sale for years, and there is never know what is in the mind of the person looking at your work. If they do nothing with their hands themselves, they have really no idea of the work. And some mother might have asked for two nailclippers for only $14.95...butif you order right now on line, they'll arrive in time. You didn't say how long the show went on, but try for at least an 8-hour show. PS: and remember at 4 to 6 everything slows down.
Keep your chin up, Craft fairs are so unpredictable. The next one you do you might sell out in an hour. I weave baskets and have done several shows some great and then there are the not so good ones. What I have found is that my cards for handquilting and repair that were handed out at the shows from several years back has paid off, It has amazed me the business that I have gotten from that. Hand out your business cards it's a great way to advertise your quilting.
What great items and so many to choose from. I say, have a yard sale or get a booth at a craft fair near you... They should sell lie hot cakes, especially the gift bags. Good luck. Your work is awesome.
I'm so sorry to hear that you did not do well.
