I like to color to relax after a busy day. Thanks for sharing a way to put the coloring to a good use. It would make a great apron, hot pad, table runner.......

I have been thinking of coloring with crayons on blocks.I've seen
a couple at quilt shows, but I am wondering how do they look
when laundered? Do the colors stay true or do they fade out.'
I was thinking of using them in a baby quilt.

I have done a lot of these and use color crayons. I do not use any brand other than either Roseart or Prang. They are the only brands I have found that will not wash out even after heat setting.

cjaye44 02-11-2011 05:14 AM

I think they're both beautiful!!

rockie8903 02-11-2011 05:17 AM

Love it and the idea with crayola crayons too.

Thanks a bunch. What I had in mind was doing some OLD patterns my mother had in an activity book she had while teaching 'beginners' at Sunday school back in the 30's. And,
hopefully putting them into a baby quilt. There is no way they could be appliqued, and I would hate to do all that work and
have them wash out. Been asking people for years and nobody seemed to know. Appreciate your help!

Really neat, using the crayons! I was wondering if you could do that & if it would last. Now I know.

Nice job!
