Crayon quilt

In searching for a pattern for this fun quilt, I found lots of variations posted on this board, mostly from 2015. I incorporated some of your great ideas and came up with my version. It's going next weekend to a baby shower for a little guy, due in January. Lots of fun to make, and I only "had" to buy a few orange & red ft quarters ("had to" because of course buying new fabric is such a chore!). Everything else, including the backing & binding, was in my stash just waiting to be put to use.

This is sew kool. Did you use 2.5" strips? I have been thinking about making a quilt like this for a long time. Think I want to make an I Spy Crayon quilt. BrendaK

It looks as if you have a train lover in your house with the O gauge tracks seen in the photo. Were they willing to let you move their layout for your layout?

For those looking for a pattern, it was by Emily Herrick and the name was Color Me Happy. I got my copy in a free insert with American Patchwork in 2014 but I altered the original to the short crayons. It is a pattern the is pretty easy to figure out on your own and there are many neat versions here on QB.
